Holiday Inn London - Kensington

Like Easter 2024, my wife and I decided to take another trip to London during Easter this year. Having visited London several times over the years, we decided to make another stay in Kensington also this year. The second time around, is the title from an old Frank Sinatra song, and we decided to follow his advice and therefore chose Holiday Inn Kensington once more. Our stay was as successful as last year. Holiday Inn has an excellent location, close to the High Street Ken tube station and to bus stops for transport giving easy access to other significant places in London. The hotel is also easy to reach from LHR. Just take the Piccadilly line to South Kensington and change there for the Circle line to High Street Ken. Besides the excellent location there are also various shopping opportunities around the hotel. Besides if you prefer to take one of the buses stopping outside the tube station, it is easy to reach mnay of the famous attractions by bus if you prefer, instead of travelling by tube. To all guests we highly recommend to buy an Oyster card which gives you seamless travelling. We also recommend guests to take a walk along the resident area close to the hotel, a quiet area with lots of elegant mansions, reminding of scenes from My Fair Lady and "On the street where you live". The check in when we arrived was excellent, and we given a nice room in a quiet part of the hotel. The lifts were quite small, and sometimes we had to wait for a while before arriving at our floor. With so many guests staying at the hotel, it might be challenging, especially if you are in a hurry Breakfast was sumptous with multiple choices of bread, fruit, cheese and so on. Both warm and cold dishes were offered. Although the breakfast room was quite crowded especially between 0830 and 0900, due to the many guests visiting London during Easter, we were very well taken care of by attentive waiters. The room was quite big, but we had also this year a problem with the bath tub stopper. It was difficult to open, and therefore the water after a shower or a bath took quite a long time. We also missed a shoehorn this year. Otherwise, the room was very well equipped. Our second stay at a Holiday Inn Kensington hotel, was as successful as the first one, and we have already recommended the hotel to friends here in Norway who plan to visit London.
