This is a beautiful hotel. And for being so historic and proper, we found the service and staff to be friendly and unpretentious. We had been upgraded to a suite that came with a butler, which was a little confounding to Americans who aren't used to that. But our butlers were great - they had wonderful restaurant recommendations and had advice for everything we needed to do. The room was spectacular. It was larger than some apartments, with a "living room", a bedroom, a large bathroom and a powder room. There was a lot of closet space. Housekeeping was excellent. It was definitely pricey, even with the upgrade. But if you can afford the splurge, it's worth it. The hotel location was great, with Soho and Covent Garden within walking distance. Breakfast came with our room, and it was very good. But if breakfast isn't part of your room rate, there are lots of restaurants nearby. In all, this was a great hotel, certainly one of the best we've stayed at.
