My wife and I visited on Monday, the reopening day and we were impressed by how the pub had been given a face lift. The pub had three nice real ales which was important to us. We did have one niggle which was the omission of sandwiches on the lunch menu. We wanted a snack but not a hot meal so had to go down the road to the Commercial. Because the first impressions were good we booked a table for the family on Wednesday evening, We were really pleased with the friendly service and the food was lovely. I had the rack of lamb which was beautifully cooked. The menu was not the normal pub food offered at most pubs in area and between us we tried a good selection of well cooked, high quality dishes. We booked for Mothers Day because everything had been so nice. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a change from the usual.
