I was stranded in NYC after all 3 airports were closed, due to weather. There wasn't a room to be had in the city. I was forced to The Umbrella, despite the mixed reviews. OMG I was so happy I ended up there!!!! I had the most wonderful adventures! My room was spotless! The staff was so incredibly kind and sympathetic to my situation! The neighborhood was colorful and welcoming! I don't know when I've had more fun! .... No, The Umbrella isn't fancy. No, the neighborhood isn't chic. .... But the rooms are clean! The staff is wonderful. The neighborhood is interesting..... I'm long past the point in my life where "affordable" is a huge consideration. I'm definitely at the "comfortable" stage in life. I'll be staying at The Umbrella in The Bronx next time I'm in the City! It's where I was made to feel COMFORTABLE! I CANNOT THANK THE STAFF ENOUGH!!! I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! . PS Maybe this isn't a great place to bring small children, as the room are notably small in size.
