UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR RETURNING CUSTOMERS. WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS IF ABLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY!

My husband and I stayed here several years back for one of our anniversary trips to Fredricksburg. The location is ideal as is walking distance to all shops, restaurants, bars, etc... no need to worry about driving and finding parking, so that was wonderful! The room itself was nice, quaint and quiet, the hot tub great for relaxing. This year on our anniversary we decided to book it once more as very much enjoyed the accommodations. We booked a long week, 4nights and were excited to celebrate our anniversary once again in Fredricksburg. The day before we were to leave our air conditioning went out in our home. We had made plans for my elderly parents who are in the their late 70's and early 80's to come stay with our two sons and our two dogs at our home. Now that the A/C was out there was no way we could leave without fixing it and with the triple digit weather we were on a wait list to fix a very expensive issue. We called Vacasa, Blacksmith Quarters to see how they could assist us in possibly getting a voucher or credit to use at a later date. They informed us we could not get a refund or partial refund, which we understood since it was 24hrs from checking in. We asked for a voucher or credit for another weekend but they refused to let us do that. My husband and I both called to speak to them about this, as this issue we were having with the A/C was out of our hands almost like an act of God. We explained our situation, that we had two elderly parents that could not stay here with our boys and dogs, that it was our anniversary we were celebrating and that we were returning customers. We were just asking for a voucher or credit to be used at a later date, we even gave them another weekend to book and yet we were told that they could not do that. So in the end we were charged and out the full amount $1500. They showed no customer service or even human decency to our special situation. I explained to them that $1500 was a lot of money for a family of four to completely lose but not a company like them. They were heartless, did not care and did not have any customer service at all. I will NEVER book with them again and DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

What a great find!! We don’t like big hotels so finding this place was such a win!! Lovely room. Roaring fire. Hot tub in the bathroom’s private courtyard. So quaint and cozy. Really well situated as well. Just needs better road signage as we missed the entrance

Cozy lovely place

Beautiful place too stay !! Perfect place to go downtown Fredericksburg and taste wine and shop !!! Definitely recommend this place !! Lots too do !! Went to chanted rock to hike !! Amazing and gorgeous views !! Great hike to climb so many spots to hike ,walk ,run !!

Cute and good location. Hot tub had issues, called customer service for help and they never called back, deadbolt on door didn’t work, there was one drinking cup, clock radio didn’t work, no Kleenex in the room, and the tv was pathetically small. I didn’t have a bad time but am disappointed in their lack of detail and in particular their lack of response to an important amenity to the room. After 2 nights without being able to use the hot tub, we downloaded  the owner’s manual and at least got it usable.  Likely the thermostat was bad.

Cute but lacking

Although the room is quite lovely the accommodations are definitely not luxury for  the following reasons:  no onsite mgr or staff on premises. They leave you a phone number to call if you need anything. They text you with instructions on how to get in your room. Upon arrival we noticed some issues and texted back. No response after 3 hours, so we called. We found tiny ants around the coffee pot, the washcloths should be relegated to the rag pile (bath towels are nice), lightbulbs were burned out in ceiling, we needed the wifi password, when I turned off the nightstand lamp, I noticed LOTS of cobwebs at the top of the lampshade, the wall TV is about 30” and much too small for the size of the room, the bedding is serviceable, more durable than the soft you would expect for luxury. I found a few black hairs in the clean towels and just thought “eww” until I found a clump of black hair inside a towel like you’d find in a shower drain. Gross!  There’s an outside water fountain that isn’t working. It would be lovely to have it on. If this place wasn’t advertised as luxury I wouldn’t have as much of an issue. Oh, and no smoke detector!  The bracket was on the wall but the detector itself was in a bathroom drawer and didn’t look like it would work anyway.  The place really needs an on-site mgr who would take pride in the place rather than being run by a faceless corporation. Probably due to Covid there’s no housekeeping which we weren’t told in advance or was the price discounted to compensate.

Should not be classified as luxury accommodations

We stayed in the Bianca and it was fabulous! Super clean, comfortable bed, and beautiful little cottage. The hot tub was perfect! Location is right in Main Street and we were happy to walk in and out at our leisure. The place is very pricey, but we did enjoy it. 

Kidless weekend getaway

We got to enjoy The Carl, which is one of the 2 rustic style cabins that are in the back of the property. It had a large balcony with hot tub that overlooked the creek. The fireplace was a great added touch to the room in the cooler nights we had this March. The property was almost empty during our time there, but the way the 8 rooms are done, you feel alone the whole time! (There is a larger home at the front of the property, then 2 Victorian style cottages, 2 duplex style front porch cabins, and then the 2 rustic cabins at the back.) The location was amazing in that we could walk anywhere downtown within minutes! Though it was on main st, we never heard the sound of the bustle because of the brook between all the rooms. Only thing is the entrance/exit is TIGHT for larger trucks. My husband’s tundra was fine, but we did hit the corner of the curb leaving on our last day. And the ice machine wasn’t working on the property. Otherwise, highly recommend! 
A couple of tips: the hot tub gets HOT! We were comfortable at about 95*. Bring your own wine glass because downtown let’s you walk around with wine! Relax and enjoy!

Romantic and secluded: Great location!

Quaint, stylish and beautifully appointed historical style cottage. We had a wonderful stay here. It’s cleverly laid out with great facilities, huge shower and an amazing hot tub and really tasty muffins for breakfast. It’s within walking (staggering) distance of all the bars and restaurants and is picture perfect. A great stay

Picture perfect perfection

Great property in an excellent location within walking distance to restaurants & all the shopping. Very clean & very well maintained. Loved being able to turn on the fireplace on chilly mornings without getting out of bed. Very quiet property close to everything but set back away from the noise of the street. Our room had a small sitting area with 2 chairs & a small table @ the foot of the bed but it would’ve been nice to have a loveseat or small sofa there instead. We had two fresh delicious muffins with juice & several cereal options & milk waiting for us on the bar & in the fridge & plenty of coffee & tea options in case we didn’t want to go out for breakfast or needed a snack. It was nice to have the mini fridge & microwave & the cabinets were well stocked with coffee mugs & wine glasses. There was also a welcome packet waiting on the table for us with brochures & maps of things to see & do in Fredericksburg & a little gift to take home with us which included a deck of cards & a wine opener.   The bathroom was large & bright with open shower. There was a back door leading out from the bathroom to the private hot tub. Nice storage & the room was well laid out. The bed was very comfortable. Parking is tight in Fredericksburg in most areas of downtown so it was nice that Blacksmith Quarters had plenty private parking right out in front of the cottages.   We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent!

We just returned from a weekend in Fredericksburg. Blacksmith Quarters was excellent. The room was beautiful and well maintained. The location was perfect. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants. My only suggestion would be to bring your own Keurig pod if you are a coffee drinker. The rooms have a Keurig machine, but they provide a jar of coffee grounds and a reusable pod, and the coffee was not great. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and we will definitely return.
