We enjoyed a really wonderful holiday in a homely, family friendly hotel. Excellent service from our hosts  too!  Food  is delicious & fresh. Highly recommend for families & couples who want to get away & have a quiet break.  The pool is also lovely & clean & was ideal for long days in the sun.

Delightful stay

We found this hotel while looking for a place to stay with a pool which wasn't a mainstream hotel. Sezar's met our expectations and proved to have those relaxed lay back vibes one typically only sees in small private hotels/B&Bs.

We were 2 adults travelling with our 3 yo daughter.

Sezar's is a small hotel with both rooms and apartments all located in a small 3 story building. Besides the building lies a garden with grass and a pool lined with sunbeds, cosy seats and hammocks. In the corner is a bar and small restaurant with stone oven from which delicious pizzas emerge. On one side of the garden lies a wall and on another lies a field with olive trees. All along the edge of the garden grow vegetables which are used for the guest's meals. Opposite the road lie some residential buildings, but apart from that the view is a stunning mountain scenery. There was also a projector and screen which was turned on in the evening and showed either soccer or tv shows.

Sezar's is located in the village of Qeparo 100m up the road towards Kudhës. Coming from Himara it's the first road on your left when entering Qaparo, just along side the tourist info building. We missed it at first as there's no sign indicating Sezar's. We also passed the actual place because the sign on the building says Hotel Qaparo and only in small letters Sezar's. There's a parking dedicated to the hotel. The beach is a 10min walk. Qeparo has one of the better beaches we've seen with a long and new boardwalk lined with hotels and beach bars and restaurants. No need to rush out in the morning to claim your sunbed as the beach, and Albania in general, are not flooded by tourists (yet).

Our main point of contact was a very friendly women who seemed to run the place with her husband who we also saw occasionally fixing things. There were other staff as well and in general one can say they were all very friendly and accommodating ( they really go out of the way for you). The hostess and most of the staff did not speak English, but we got a long way with gestures and google translate.

When we arrived we had lunch and got it on the house! We had our breakfast at the pool every morning (1200 lek average for the 3 of us) and we had 2 times diner in the restaurant (2000 lek average for the 3 of us including drinks) and it was good every time (especially the pizzas). The washing machine in our apartment didn't work, but our clothes were washed by the hostess on request without charge.

The apartment was modern decorated and apart from the washing machine everything worked. It was clean and the bathroom was spacy.

Although dwarfed by the good things Sezar's had to offer, I did have some minor annoyances; the guard dog who mostly slept in a corner during the day tended to have barking episodes during the night, very annoying if you're a light sleeper like me. Also the beds were a bit hard for my taste and in the mornings we didn't have warm water. Oh, and there was no WiFi.

In general I would recommend this place to all travellers (singles, couples and families) who look for something secluded, genuine, charming and very reasonably priced.
