We caught the Rozafa ferry from Fierza to Koman. I sent them an email in advance to try and make a booking, no response. Our tour agency called and made a booking for us. We also got our hotel to call in the morning to reconfirm the booking. Anyway, we show up and of course they said the ferry was already full. We asked to see the list of bookings. One of the guys pulled out of his pocket a small A7 size piece of paper with hand written makes of cars - like Volkswagen Passat etc. Luckily one of the makes matched our car so we managed to talk our way onto the ferry, resulting in one of the cars being carried on the ferry's dropped bridge the whole way - about 3 hours.

Getting on to the ferry, the access road was in such a bad shape they had to get shovels and fix it up. They made the cars park so close to each other that the staff members actually ended up side pushing the cars into the required spots using their arms. This turned out to be a problem when disembarking because the ferry was tilted and cars with manual transmission had to hill start, bumping into each other like dodgem cars. Disembarking was very poorly managed and cars were just coming out based on which driver was yelling louder or looked more intimidating. There was some dispute about the fact we arrived maybe 1 hour later than scheduled and the staff got in a physical altercation with some passengers - there was some pushing, shoving and lots of yelling. 

Unlike other companies running on the like, Rozafa Ferry does not have a covered roof. The sun at 1pm was very strong and everyone was either crammed inside where there weren't enough seats, or sitting on the floor.

I would say it's not worth it catching the ferry all the way to Fierza. If you want to see Koman Lake just do it as a tour from Komani town. The road between Shkoder and Komani is a whole another chapter.

Poorly run

The boys that work there seem not to be used to being around a female. They consistently kept staring at me and my breasts. One of the employees would constantly talk to us and shout random phrases he knew in my mother language. One time without asking he joined our table while we were having a drink. Another time when having a dinner in a small restaurant on the other side of the tunnel he stopped his car in front and started bothering us while we were having dinner. It was very annoying in general but combined with him constantly staring at my body I felt really uncomfortable and quickly had to change my outfit to something more covered (not something you wanna do in the middle of Albanian summer). I am not sure though he was working for the hotel though, he might have been one of the private tour guides. 

There is nothing to do there. If you are going there for the ferry, arrive late evening or in the morning and avoid spending the night there.

The hotel is quite scruffy, not the cleanest.

The breakfast is very very poor, we received: a slice of cheese each, some fig jam, one cold sunny side up egg each and a basket of old and mouldy bread. And that's it. No butter, no tea, no coffee, no juice, no water. 

The whole area is really quiet. There isn't much competition which might explain the low standards but seriously avoid that place. There is a camping (and rooms) on the other side of the tunnel, I haven't been but it might be a better shot (same price).
