We just returned from a two-week vacation  to Buenos Aires  and Uruguay. When you're traveling with 18 people and want a private residence, there are not a lot of options. We found Las Canitas to be exactly what we were looking for. It accommodated 18 people, so everyone in our group had their own bedroom and en suite bathroom. There was a large living area on the first floor as well as an outdoor seating area and there is a balcony off the third floor that is quite spacious. One of the best parts about our trip, was our amazing hostess Monica. She could not have been more helpful or accommodating. She arranged a traditional Argentinian barbecue for the first night, inclusive of two tango singers meats salads and wine and dessert included. They had the table set beautifully under the stars and we were serenaded before and during  dinner with traditional Argentinian music. Monica also arranged for us to meet with a caterer, Tributo, who brought dinner to Las Canitas, and brought us to their beautiful venue for a special Christmas dinner. A special shout out to Gaspar, Luca, and Milo Who arranged a memorable Christmas dinner and evening. 
I would go back and stay at Monica's place and Buenos aires. Perfect location for everything that BA has to offer. 

Great Value and excellent location for a large group

The wife and I were travelling with 2 other couples throughout Argentina.  First and last stop was B.A. and Las Canitas.  Away from the congestion and noise of the downtown area, Huergo must be the So Ho of B.A.  The neighborhood has all the eateries and bars you could ask for.  Hip and stylish shopping too.  The nightlife is swinging.
The hotel is managed by Monica.  She is a concierge's concierge.  Most helpful in all of our needs and planning.  Alba took care of our rooms and dirty laundry always with a smile.  She layed out lovely breakfast spread and made our coffee's as we liked.  It was similar to being home from college and having two mothers looking after us.  I never did learn the names of the two tortises but they reminded us to take it slow and enjoy the city.  Thank you ladies.

Shabby Chic

Excellent service, Cañitas is a good neighborhood, great place to stay. Close to nice bars and restaurants. Monica and Alba were excellent hosts. I totally recommend this place when visiting buenos aires. Not expensive and the service is really good.

4 families with a total of 18 teens and adults loved our 6 day stay at Casa Las Canitas.
The bed rooms were comfortable and the spacious common areas: living room, kitchen, courtyard, bbq grill and hot tub made it feel like we had our own home abroad.  Monica is a terrific hostess who was happy to advise us and help plan sight seeing, shopping and dining.  Neighborhood is quiet, but close to the action.  We especially loved the expresso machine that did everything from grinding the beans to frothing the milk with a couple of button pushes.

Perfect for a big group of travelers!

The hotel is not very central when it comes to sightseeing in downtown BA, but it's only a 10 minute walk to the metro station and for dining out it's perfect with lots of restaurants, bars and cafés just around the corner or in easy walking distance. We had one of the (most basic) rooms downstairs. It was relatively small but sufficient if you spend the entire day in the city, however quite dark. With regard to value for money I would rate it as medium. The breakfast buffet is very good for Argentina, the patio is beautiful and the staff is super nice, the room was also very clean but for the size and location of the room we found 108 USD a night too much. They also charged half of the daily rate for an early check-in which was a bit steep.
