Enlarging the wording of the title, La Finca en Gral. deserves to highlight the variety of agricultural activities; the manufacture and sale of goat cheeses, the production of tobacco and its Primer Museo, in addition to the Museum of Anthropology and the possibility of observing the aforementioned activities.

Once again, the warmth, excellent care, the scenery of the area, the museums of tobacco and anthropology make it special.

We enjoyed the contact with goats, dogs, the explanation about micro-fertilization, tobacco cultivation, and the museum. We were certainly on a farm. However, the contact was not fluid - we felt a little too much. We didn't even know we could eat on the spot.

It's a good overall experience but a feeling of discomfort.

The place is very easily accessible from the city of Salta, an hour and a half of paved road with no ups and downs. the last 500 meters is a consolidated dirt road that can be done in any vehicle. there is no traffic, no music or dogs that steal, that is, total peace, just the conversation of people or the moderate bully that one needs to do, it is much quieter than San Lorenzo where I live for example the accommodation is very good, typically rural, there is a ticket for children and a very wide ticket for adults. the area is hot but the staircase is very cool. HAY MOSQUITOS LLEVAR REPELENTE AND PONERSE A LACHE! is a rural tourism, but with quick access to the village of MOLDES where we can save the children.

Ideal with kids, beautiful, beautiful!!

Nice place to spend a short stay, the cabins are original, the gathering is very good. Posee pileta, horses and is very close to the Dique de Cabra Corral where besides taking a catamaran walk, practicing some sport or fishing, you can eat pejerrey or other regional specialities. Good option to visit for those who want to know Salta.

It's all in nature.

Pleasant stay at Finca Santa Anita - a lovely place in a very quiet place that invites relaxation and rest, an old town with galleries and rooms with just enough to enjoy cozy moments, the attention of the lovely owners and staff and the exquisite breakfast with homemade jams and goat cheese produced at the finca... I hope to return soon!!

Rest and tranquillity desired!!

Hello, I went with my family and a group of friends, really a unique place, excellent attention, a place to rest, the food they offer is quality and totally organic, a large park for kids. The super recommendable horseback riding (you have to wear a hat and water) some spectacular scenery.The beautiful, super recommendable unique tobacco museum we will be back in January.

Estadia soñada is a Spanish football stadium.

My wife and I have just spent 3 nights with the owners - Carlos, Valentina and their family - at this Finca - relaxing after several weeks' touring in Argentina. The location is a large old colonial style tobacco farm, situated a few kilometres from Coronel Moldes, a sleepy country town in the middle of the Salta valley region. This is not a 5 star hotel: you will share your time there with the family, the dogs, goats, horses and beautiful bird life. Access is via a dirt road - best to drive, since you will get very dirty and dusty if walking or cycling.
The property has been in the owners' family for many years and is generally in reasonable condition. Bedrooms are large and airy with high ceilings and fans, which cool the rooms adequately. Bathrooms are functional and clean. The terraces, where food and drinks are served, are full of character and contain nice wooden furniture. There is also an area where the owners prepare asados - really nice, shaded and great to eat in IF it is in use, which is not all of the time.
The swimming pool was not very inviting and we did not use it, despite the weather being very hot. Carlos told us it was due to recent excessive rain, rendering it cloudy and full of insects.
We were able to join the family on 2 occasions for lunch - one beef asado and one chicken disco ... Both were absolutely delicious but not cheap. You should clarify payment for food and wine BEFORE joining the family. We failed to do this and were presented with the bill at the end of our stay; not excessively expensive but you will be charged for all elements - food, cheese, desserts and wine. It was delicious !
Evening meals are light but tasty - tamales, empanadas,etc served with salad. The house wine is not great - I recommend having a bottle of local Cafayate wine which is superb.
Breakfast is also a light meal, although you can request scrambled eggs. The jams, preserves, etc are fantastic - all prepared by. Valentina who is a superb cook and really lovely lady.
Carlos has a tobacco museum and a small archaeological collection for which he conducts visits. These don't take too long but are worth the 1 hour or so to see. 
Carlos and his family also produce goat's cheese which is very tasty - it is served with breakfast.
We also arranged for some horse riding - 2 hours to/from a pretty lake with great bird life. The horses are nice and well schooled. We were accompanied by one of the family boys, who was great.
A very large dam a few kilometres away provides a wonderful environment for a drive, walk, cycle or other activities (bungee, jet ski,rafting, etc)
Overall this is a good place to visit for a change of pace on your travels. Interesting opportunity to chat to Carlos, Valentina and their lovely family .. as well as to sample some nice food. You may even persuade Carlos to play guitar and sing for you !
Finally, thanks to daughter Josefina for transfer to the airport - good driving. :-)

Lovely old working farm with good hospitality

We specifically chose Santa Anita because we wanted to stay somewhere that gave us an insight into farm life and provided a warm family welcome, we didn't want to stay in an impersonal hotel. It is a beautiful location and we were served great food (especially at lunchtimes) but the welcome we received was far from warm, and bordered on cold. 

We arrived in the middle of a private Asado (argentine barbecue) which was fine, fun to see it going on and very typically Argentine. Carlos greeted us and even promised we'd have our own Asado the next evening- then we had a great lunch and a nap while the Asado wound down- so far so good. It was the next day where everything went downhill. 

The 'tour of the farm' and visit to the tobacco museum that were promised as 'part of the price' of the stay never materialised. At the beginning of the day Carlos somewhat begrudgingly asked what we'd like to do and we asked if we could do a horse ride and a cooking course as we're really interested in food and love cooking. We did the horse ride with Carlos's son, who was lovely and extremely friendly, but then we waited for hours and hours around the farm for the cooking course to happen, and it just never did. Not only that but the asado that had been promised the night before also never happened. 

We know there was no confusion here, not only does Carlos speak English well, but my husband speaks Spanish fluently, he was born in Argentina. Carlos' wife never introduced herself, and the reception from Carlos throughout the 3 days we were there just got colder and colder. We tried to be thankful and pleasant about everything but it made no difference. We were so relieved to be out of there and when we headed to our hotel in Salta, the contrast in atmosphere and welcome was just so stark, it was so nice to be around friendly people again!

I don't know whether this was just an off week for them, but if you want to experience family life in the real Argentina this is not where I would recommend. We travel to a lot to places like this and have stayed in many agrotourisms around the world because we love meeting people and getting a more personal experience from a holiday, but that is not what we got at Santa Anita.

Beautiful location, lovely food, not so friendly welcome

This is a lovely place to relax. Great family who runs this agrotourism accommodation. The goat cheese must not be missed. Fresh, healthy meals a nice change from all the meat in Salta. The pets provide great company (do protect your food though, they are quite cheeky).

Peaceful location

We had planned to take a simple step between Salta and Cafayate in Coronel Moldes, and so we ended up in this peaceful haven. The reception there is excellent (horseback riding, visiting local museums) and the family cuisine is of high quality.
