This is a lovely mansion with an Northern European flavour to it. 
We were there in low season so it was all very quiet. Having been to so many properties in my travels I feel that the three star rating here is rather unfair. This is a good 4* hotel. It's spotlessly clean and both pools are well looked after. Staff are friendly and everything works. The wifi could do with some higher speed but this is minor.
Overall a good property in a lovely area of La Falda.
I'd certainly return with pleasure.

Excellent three * hotel 

Having stayed in many hotels in various parts of Argentina, I was impressed with the facilities and cleanliness of L'Hirondelle.  While waiting for our room we had a quick bite in the attached restaurant a d although it was "just a burger", I was surprised at the quality.  Our room overlooked the front street.  The gabled window allowed a lot of fresh air while watching La Falda life pass by.  The room had air conditioning but we didn't need it.  We are sticklers for cleanliness and this hotel matched our expectations.

After an afternoon stroll, we thoroughly enjoyed a bowl of ice cream under the shade of a poolside tree.  The grounds are very parklike.  The indoor pool was wonderfully warm and theraputic.  There was a sauna room but no staff or indicators as to how to turn it on.

Staff was amicable and helpful.  I was pleased to be able to pay with my credit card as many places in Argentina have difficulty with chip technology.  I would definitely recommend L'Hirondelle when in La Falda.



clean and affordable

Hotel is clean and its three star rating is saved by the excellent   indoor pool which was a welcome respite after driving for eight or more hours from Buenos Aires. The apartment we were in (two couples) had two rooms with one small bathroom and no cooking facilites. One of the rooms has no door so privacy is limited. This is more appropriate for young couples with children rather than two couples. As we had advised of this Esther was kind enough to allow us to change to two separate rooms with no additional charge. We also booked for six nights and stayed for five with no penalty. The furniture is tired in the apartment and in the roms we moved to. Showers were good. There is no airconditioning in any of the rooms. This could be an issue in mid summer, aAlthough the well preserved and welcoming public areas downstairs are air conditoned. Breakfast was plentiful with coffee on the go croissants, ham cheese fresh orang juice and chiice of breads. Location is excellent as its on the main street but three blocks away from all the noise. Rooms were cleaned daily. Recommended but not for mid summer.

Central and good Hostal. Indoor and Outdoor pool, nice garden, quiet surroundings, as a bit up from the central la Falda buzz.
The rooms are basic for European standards but clean and have all you need and are perfectly comfortable.

I came to La Falda for a conference, and chose to stay at Hostal L'Hirondelle. I was very happy with my choice. The location was great, as it is on Av. Eden, a few blocks up from the main drag where there are lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The rooms are a bit small, but they upgraded me to a triple room, so mine was bigger. The style of the hotel is like a chalet, with a fireplace, pretty sitting area, and nice breakfast area. The breakfast was good for Argentina - cereal, pastries, meat and cheese, fruit salad, coffee, and optional cooked eggs.

The hotel also has an in-house spa area, with massage and treatment rooms, at a reasonable price, and two pools. My favourite was the heated indoor pool, which I had pretty much to myself.

The staff was also great - very helpful, and patient with my pidgin Spanish.
