Sandra (the owner) was really nice with me and her husband too. I booked that place from the Net and was really happy with it. My room was really OK with AC and the bed really was confortable. They have a kitchen for people to use to cook food and it was clean and very well maintained. Of course like most of the hostels the pots and pans are not the very best but they do the job. I asked for advice about tours and the falls and they gave me the very best advices possible, making me save time and money. Everyone at la Esquina del bamboo was very nice and treated the guests good. It is not far from the bus terminal and all the stores you could possibly need. I strongly recommend that place if you happen to go to Puerto Iguazu to see the Iguazu falls.

A real nice stay !

This was one of the first hostels we stayed at, so we didn't really have a good perspective on what is to be expected and such. Despite this, as a whole, the hostel served our needs. There was an issue that they did not receive our reservation through Hostelworld (issue on Hostelworld side I think- either way, I don't recommend Hostelworld) but the lady there was kind enough to give us our room anyway. 
Breakfast was better than usual though still pretty basic- Juice, bread, jam etc. 
There was usually someone on hand to answer our questions, though I think that not much english was spoken, but either way they were helpful enough.
The hostel is slightly out of the way of the other hostels, but in such a small settlement it isn't really an issue, but i guess bear it in mind if you're interested in the nightlife etc.
There was Wifi in the shared area but not in our room. there was also a desktop computer but there was always one of the kids on it, so i didn't really know if it was even meant to be there for the public or not.
The room didn't seem overly secure as the doors locks looked basic and there is a gap over and under the door. There was what  I can only call a 'rush hour' of ants across one of the walls. There was an ensuite shower but this was extremely hot (making it unusable to us), and the shared one outside was unusably cold, which made it hard to shower successfully for the stay. It's fairly cheap and I don't think any of the issues would have been enough to put us off staying, as it's pretty normal for the kind of hostel one will come across when traveling in these areas. I'd probably stay again if I returned!

Decent early stay

This hostel is one of the cheapest in Iguazu. Some good points: breakfast was included and it wasn't the worst we had in South America, the staff were friendly and were always on hand to give advice and answer any questions, location was good but as Puerto Iguazu is such a small town anywhere would be a good location. Some bad points: ants everywhere, the shower inside the room was boiling hot (too hot to stand under) but the shower outside was freezing cold; there was no in between. Also, there was wifi in this hostel but it did not connect in any of the rooms, the only place you could get good connection was in the reception.

One of the cheapest

Yes it's cheap, but this hostel was the dirtiest hostel I've stayed in during my 2 months in South America. Not only were there ants and cockroaches EVERYWHERE, the bathroom was mouldy and the kitchen was unusable. Also, the wifi is not available in all areas as it so states on the internet. 

Only one lady at reception spoke English, and the youngest man working (I use that term loosely) there seemed to just sit on the only computer all day long with his headphones in, and with the only fan pointed directly on him. God forbid people actually paying to stay there would like to use the computer or use the fan cool down. 

The common dining/lounge/kitchen area is a part of the owners house, and they make that very clear (one of the owners went so far as to turn the stove off while we were in the middle of using it, without asking us). we felt incredibly uncomfortable sitting there trying on the wifi trying to plan the rest of our trip. 

The air conditioner broke on our 2nd day there and dripped dirty water all over our bags and onto the floor. No one was able to fix this.

The only positive was the good location, close to the town and bus station.

Apart from that, it wasn't even worth the low price we paid. 

Not worth it

Very friendly reception, tidy rooms, good aircon, good showers, mosquito nets on the windows. Breakfast very basic - as everywhere. 

Quiet are of town, very relaxed and peaceful. 

Staff was very helpful, explaining all about the falls, how to get there, where to change dollars and unfortunately even where to find a good doctor. 

Stayed two nights here after a shocking stay at hostal sweet - so much better!
