We booked a double room, the frame of bed was completely broken, there were cockroaches running around. The manager was not surprised and did not really care at all. In the end we ended up in a dorm room and did not get any money back. The atmosphere was not good either, we changed the hostel the next morning.

Host staff doesn't have a passion to serve. Probably he is one of an owner of this hostel. So, it is better not to stay here. He is really rude when saying something.
Breakfast starts from 9AM. So, it is too late to serve.
Price is dubious. He probably said to me a different price from other guest of same room. 10% discount of Youth Hostel International Member Card is not working at all. He said price once before showing Member Card. Then, I showed Member Card but he said same price. "normal price is more higher, discount price is the price". Actually final price is the same price of other non-member guest. He is really dubious.
Room is not good but room is OK with the price. It is acceptable.
When I stay, water in bathroom doesn't come for long time. He rudely said to me to wait 20 min. Other guest also had some kind of unpleasure feeling at that time probably.
The window in big room is broken and it is probably not fixed for long.
The outdoor facilities may be good. So, it may be good if you use outdoor facilities but I'm not sure if it is good maintained because I didn't use them. I just saw them.
In total, if you just sleep in bed... this may be OK with the price. Still probably you can stay more better hotel with same price range. If you need to stay in this town while moving, this may be OK just for short stay.

Host staff is rude. I don't recommend to stay.

You should avoid this hostel. It's very old. The beds are old, the sheets are torn, the matresses should have been replaced years ago. The cushion was a cotton bag with flocks of mousse. 

Basic hygiene in the rooms is not ok. Also the reception area, breakfast area hadn't been cleaned for quite some time.

This was the worst and dirtiest hostel I ever slept in. You should really avoid this place!

Very poor hostel

Went in May, so it was offseason and we were the only people there. The staff was very eager to make our stay pleasant though, even preparing an asado for us as we returned from a long day at Aconcagua. I would highly recommend the horseback tour (3 hr) to the mines although it's a bit pricey (like $40 i think). The area behind the hostel, where the shorter horseback tour goes, is also fantastic, and I was bummed I didn't have the time to hike around there. The Mendoza river carves an awesome canyon back there. Wifi isn't good

Great for outdoors

Sometime, in the hostels you can get everything even what you dont need.
In that one, you get just the main and most important stuff: a view as you were dreaming, a real backpackers (no fake ones), so many activities to do around and especially, a great welcoming from Alejandro and all the staff. I did hundred hostels around the world in the 5 continents, and it s the first time i take time to write a review.
So... Don't hesitate... Just go ahead.
