I stayed at the hotel for 8 months. It was a very memorable time.  It is as warm as home, but free because of the large public area.  The location is close to the supermarket IGA, shopping is very convenient, and 5 minutes walk to the beach to watch the sunset.  I will definitely miss the people and the place!!!!

I spent really beautiful time here! Met a lots of nice people, very good vibes, the hostel is clean and the manager are really nice! If u are looking for a job, this is the perfect solution!

Good time in Albany

Me and my finnish girlfriend stayed 4 months in Albany backpackers from November to March. It was the hardest part of our travel so far but with a lot of great experience and a lot of money we left this place with a tear in the eye. We found a family far away from home there. Sandy and Jenny who are the managers of this place took care of me after a work accident and helped me and did all they could do. I arrived on 26 November and on 27 November i started working on a garlic farm hourly payed with all my friends there. This place has a soul and im happy that we were a piece of this soul. Greetings Stefan and Irene we carry this hostel forever like a treasure in our heart.

The money maker hostel in WA

Flew to WA from Melbourne based on the recommendation of a friend who completed his farmwork here the previous year and it did not disappoint. I had a job at an asparagus farm straight away with the most amazing employers ever for three months. Once that finished I had to wait less than a day for a new job to come up which was working on an oysters farm. Both jobs were amazing, great employers, minimum wage with the latter exceeding slightly. I believe the hostel values it self on finding good reputable employers for backpackers to do their farm work and it was true in my case! Depending on the season there is usually heaps of work going. 

The hostel itself and the people who stay there are very much become your family since the vast majority are there for 3+ months to get their farm days. It's based in a great location right in the town centre, clean rooms, good showers, very social. Wifi can be  very temperamental at times which was annoying and pricey for what you pay in comparison to getting a shared house.

Overall a really great hostel and couldn't recommend it enough as a place to get your farm days sorted with good people, a good location and some of the best beaches in Australia only a drive away.

Great hostel

Albany backpackers is a great hostel, I had wonderful time here.. I stayed for 6 months and I felt everyday like in a family!! The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is helpful and They can help you to get all the 88 days for the second year visa with different kind of job!! Unforgettable moment with the lovely staff (jenni and sandy) and all the guys we met!! 

Amazing hostel 

I stayed in this hostel for almost six month... felt like in a family! Is a great place to find job for getting the 88days for second visa and great opportunity to meet a lot of people! You can work and clean for free accomodation as well so is pretty good to save money especially at the beginning when you have no job! Very nice and friendly staff (jenny e sandy) free breakfast every morning and very good location. I had beautiful moments there! Definitely recommended!

Great hostel!! 

We stayed here for over 7 months, working to complete our farm days.
The hostel were great for finding you work to help you gain your second year visa, and it definitely became our home while we were there. We were given a variety of jobs when we first arrived, until we finally got a job for more than 3 months to sign off our visa days. 
The bedrooms are roomy, have places to put your stuff and have curtains around the bed (amazing! we miss this now we’ve left) 
As well, because everyone tends to stay fairly long term and you’re all pretty much working towards your farm days, you make great friends and it does become like a family. 
The staff are helpful, Sandy especially went above and beyond to help us out. 
5* for being a great place to stay, amazing people and for getting your 2nd year visa.

Some of the social areas are slightly run down, but the kitchen has recently been painted as well as new sofas being brought in so it has improved in the time we’ve been there. 

Overall I’d recommend it to everyone to stay there, especially as a place to complete your 88 days.
