We didn’t stay at the hotel but had lunch twice here over a very busy long weekend. We were delighted with the food and the fantastic service we received. 

Agree that the food pricing is at the higher end of the scale, however the portion sizes were huge and we felt that the prices were justified in this case. Our food was tasty and fresh, and considering how busy the place was, the food came out in a timely manner. Out of our large group of 12 (ish) there were no complaints. 

I have to say that the service was outstanding. The whole team were friendly, polite, professional and efficient - there was a chap supervising (and mucking in) and he did an amazing job of keeping everything running smoothly. 

We will definitely come here again for lunch next time we’re in Straddie - great food/service and an amazing location.

Watch whales and dolphins in the ocean while drinking a cold beer.

Bistro food is good.

Facilities clean and take good advantage of the outlook.

Better than expected

Had a Tuesday lunch with friends. Kitchen closes 2.30pm week days and 3pm on the weekend. Good 2 page menu to suit all tastes. Quick service once ordered if not busy. Good size pizza, beef Thai salad and salt and pepper squid. All well presented, cooked and tasty. Staff were efficient and almost friendly. Great view.

Lunch with a beer and view

We visited with a Probus group of 37 people for lunch on a very wet day .There was amazing service quality value priced food . The manager was amazingly helpful . By the way the view from the bistro is awesome even on a wet day.

All 37 people enjoyed the bistro and we wound strongly recommend a visit

Great bistro hotel at Point Lookout

My daughter and I went there for dinner and decided to share our meals.
We had a 250g rump with Peppercorn sauce, salad and chips plus Coconut Lamb shanks with rice and round bread
Both were sensational.
They were busy so we were told it would be half an hour wait for meals and that was accurate. 
If it’s daylight your looking at the beach if your outside which is magnificent to sit and look at.

Straddy must do

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon.
We had a room with an ocean view which was lovely.
The only thing is the room is above the bar so it was quite noisy at night.
The hotel downstairs was great for lunch and dinner and such a close walk to the beach.

Ocean view room

Do not expect anything. There is nothing luxurious or sophisticated about this place. The food is basic and expensive for the quality and quantity. There is no concept of the meaning of customer service or service standard. If one brings up the fact the order was wrong you will receive an aggressive response. Or come back tomorrow for a free meal when most people are there for the day and these people only have 1 chance to 'impress'.                                                                                                                                   . Dogs roam freely and wee everywhere.   On the world stage it does not rate. The scenery is relaxing, and seen one beach and you have seen them all. The lakes were interesting.

Take A Day Trip

This is hotel is better described as a bar with a few rooms overthe top. We booked their best room for 4 nights, we were aware that it was over the top of the bar and the noise didn't bother us - however, the balcony was unuseable as smoke billowed up from the bar and it wasnt possible to open the windows for the same reason. The hotel does not serve breakfast, which I find amazing. You can but a beer at 10:00am but no food until 11:30am. Food in the restaurant was good and the staff generally friendly.

There are signs everywhere telling you what not to do, and what you will be charged if you damage something, including an instruction in the bedroom not to drop the temperature in the room below 22 degrees. 

Went to use the pool once but it wasnt clean and thought better of it.

The location of the property is stunning and potential is fantastic but it needs a thorough update and review of management practices. The newly appointed bar / restaurant supervisor was good, but there was no sign of a General Manager. 

When asked, I provided feedback to management but there is no attempt to follow up. They charged a security deposit of $150 and only refunded this, after being chased a week after we checked out, despite saying that it would be credited as soon as the housekeeping team had checked the room.

Stunning location, which has so much potential, but a very disappointing experience.

Fancy a vegetarian beef Thai salad for $28 then this is the restaurant for you. Four 3cm x 1cm x 0.25cm strips of beef doesn't constitute a beef salad. Worse was the manager's attitude that it was okay. Complaining got the offer of a free plate of chips. Exactly what you need on a diet! What stank here was the manager's attitude. No customer service skills whatsoever.
