I am staying at the Chalambar Motel , the is ideal seeing I am the only person staying in this room . The Hosts are great they go out of there way to accommodate you , ideally located . Just 6 minutes to the centre of town 
Rooms are serviced every day .

Great hosts and place. 

We stayed here for a weekend and we are really glad we chose to stay here. 
The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept well. The en-suite is tiny but it did the job required. 
The best thing about this place are the friendly proprietors. 
Thanks for your great hospitality. Hope to see you again soon.

Overnight stay

Ok so the room is small but ok for a one night trip, bathroom was tiny with the toilet wedged in between the wall and the shower..no real shelving over the sink and the water pressure was a hit and miss affair. The water temperature fluctuated between freezing cold and very hot, no heat lamps in the bathroom just a noisy fan, I think it would of been nice to have more than 1 towel per guest and maybe  a handtowel each? also  more than one facewasher to share? The room was clean the bed comfortable ... traffic noise was not really an issue but even with double glazing traffic could still be heard.

Small

Fantastic overnight stay. Upgraded to a family room. Hairdryer, mini kitchen, DVD player fantastic extras that made our stay easy and enjoyable. Will defiantly stay again when next in Ararat. Clean bathroom and beds. Warm, light and airy. 

Had everything we needed

The motel is quiet and comfortable. A little tight in the bathroom area with little room for storing toiletries.
If you were staying for a few nights would feel a bit small.
Notwithstanding, it was warm, bed was good and shower good.
Not expensive and certainly met our needs. Breakfast optional extra.

Good value

We decided to visit our grandson who lives in Lexton Victoria, not far from Ararat. Having stayed at the Chalambar motel some 15 years ago and found it reasonable, we decided to give it another go. We were given a new room at the back of the Motel well back from the main highway. Room was spacious with a clean bathroom. Very little noise intruded our sleep. Bed wasn't too bad but could probably do with a firmer mattress. Free WIFI was good and quite quick.

Slightly out of town but near a challenging but decent walk to a look out on One tree hill
Rooms somewhat noisy with neighbors and near by traffic

Compact and clean 

Stayed two nights for work here.
Modern and well maintained room but very compact. The bathroom is very small and not much room to move.
I was down the back and could still hear a lot of trucks coming through of a night.
Very close to the main highway coming through town.
Situated 2kms from the main shopping precinct and other services.
Parking is tight as well.
Look very nice rooms but too small and too far out of town and too close to the main road for my liking.

Modern and Tidy 

First impressions count and after reading an article on how big an effect sites like lastminute, trivago, wotif etc have on small businesses I decided to book direct. 

I was greeted on the phone quickly and had a very friendly chat while booking our room. We were arriving late and I was given clear instructions. 

When we arrived we found the room very clean and it was very quiet. 

The room was small but well designed and we weren’t cramped nor wanting for facilities.

The bathroom was also small but had what we needed. Good water pressure, hot water and it was clean. 

Would definitely recommend for an overnight or weekend stay.
