Great location in the country away from all the noise. Nice cottage with everything you need for a great family break - very clean and well equipped kitchen including gas bbq. We loved the log fire and proximity to the Granite Belt plus the the evening stargazing

Lovey “country” break

What a lovely property!  Scrupulously clean everywhere inside and out.  The Cottages are well spaced around the property with raked driveways and paths!!  We scored the studio Cottage which had a lovely view over the dam and everything we needed for our 3 night stay.  Well equipped with kindling and chopped wood for our combustion heater.

Lovely cottage, great layout and view - good location.

My hubby & I stayed in a studio cottage 'cassia' and our friends stayed in 1 1brm cottage 'Banksia'.  The cottages were beautiful.   Both cottages have a fire place @ bbq.  The cottages were very clean and comfortable.  The kitchen was well equipped.  Close to the wineries and tavern.  We loved walking around  their property taking in the views and wild life.  We even saw an echidna. We had  fire pit at night.
We will return.

CYPRESS RIDGE COTTAGES,  BALLANDEAN QLD.

What a magnificent stay we had in the two bedroom cottage. It was clean (10*) and very cosy. We arrived well after dark and all the lights were on in the cottage so we could find our way easy. It was Autumn and the weather was actually still very nice during the day. At night we would light the fire as those nights were a bit chilly. We stayed for 4 nights and  had a wander on the property, went to Girraween National park (which is very close by). Visited wineries, to many to choose from. And we recommend a visit to the Christmas farm which is near Stanthorpe. So a lot to do.
We would definitely go back again, we really loved the place and their proprietors. Gurdie and family.

Marvelous, will be back!

Can't fault this place really.. bit more kindling and firewood would be good.. getting cold this time of year.. but central to everything really... get that fireplace going and just sit around and relax... pity there is no interaction with the animals on-site, and better access to their products..which is garlic..

Worth the stay

Very friendly, helpful owner greeted us on this beautiful property of 70+ acres. It is set back off a pretty busy road (A15?) but you don't hear the traffic at all, at least not our cabin. There is a dam at the front with kayaks for use. The cottages are all standalone, self contained, and far apart. We never saw anyone over the weekend. 

We did see foxes, kangaroos, heard a cow, couple dogs, otherwise very quiet. 
Cottage was clean, tidy, comfortable. Somethings I must, if possible, have when renting a place: clean, comfy chairs/sofa, bench or table space, mid-size/full size fridge, air con, wifi is a plus. These folks got it right - thank you so much for the comfy chairs in the main room, the wood-burning stove, firewood and gloves (we were able to reach cell towers with our phones). 

We usually bring an extra power cable as we have several computers (other things like coffee maker, grinder)  in our family and never get enough power outlets  in places. This cottage had enough power outlets, yah! 

We'll be back. It was really nice to get away from the loud, bright city. Thank you.

Quiet, peaceful, dark

We booked the two bedroom cottage for 4 adults and a toddler. We loved it so much, beautiful property, lovely and quiet. We were able to prepare meals in the full kitchen and had a roaring fire every night. I recommend this place very highly and I would book it again in a heartbeat. Loved seeing the resident mob of roos and the ducks. Close to wineries and Girraween Nat Park for easy bushwalks. Local shopping, and the general store has the best orange and poppyseed cake we have ever had.

Absolute Treasure

We stayed in a 2 bdrm cottage, taking advantage of the competitive winter mid-week accommodation rates. This rustic property is set back from the road and there was no noise at all from the passing traffic. Lots of room to park your car beside your cottage, with a very handy barbecue area at the front, containing a large gas barbecue and a wide table to enjoy a private breakfast, lunch or dinner. Excellent bed in the Main bedroom and 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds. Great views from the front verandah. There is a colonial style dining room with a very efficient fireplace. Extra wood for the fireplace is kept in the utility area behind the kitchen. Full facility kitchen has all plates and utensils you might need, along with a gas stove/oven, microwave, fridge and freeze. Bathroom is warm and cosy with a strong hot shower cubicle. Lots of vineyards in the area dotted along the road approximately 3 km back to the main highway, with one almost directly opposite the property. Grocery store is less than a 5 minute drive away and there is also a pub at the junction with the main highway. Girraween National Park is right beside you and Bald Rock National Park is a 10 minute drive away. The cottage was very clean and tidy and the check-in procedure was quick and easy. 
After staying 3 nights mid week, we departed after breakfast on the Friday, only to realise when we had reached our next destination later that afternoon that I had left a clothes hanger with 3 shirts in the wardrobe. No problem at all, when I phoned the proprietors. They had already taken the items into safe keeping and promptly posted these out to my home address on the following Monday, as a complimentary service. The package turned up at my doorstep 2 days later! Saved me a 300 km round trip in that I did not have to go back to the property to retrieve my shirts! Very happy with this property and its location, will definitely book again later this year.  It is perfectly positioned to enjoy all the attractions of the granite belt area especially hiking, photography, wineries, local produce, arts and crafts, within easy reach of the regional towns of Stanthorpe and Warwick.

Winter Visit to the Qld Granite Belt

We really loved staying in our cute cabin with a pot belly stove. The bed was comfy and there is a 2 hot plate stove top which came in handy. Although there are other cabins on the property, you feel alone and all to yourself, which is special. We really liked being close to some great vineyards and restaurants in Ballandean as well as close to the Girraween National Park. We were impressed with the owners’ positive response when we mentioned our noisy fridge and the cold during the night. They replaced the fridge and gave us an electric heater! We would definitely return in the future since it has a lot to offer. 

Peaceful and atmospheric

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage for 3 nights with husband and son. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay.  Good location, with one winery across the road and several others only a short drive away.  It was so peaceful and quiet especially at night...nice to escape the city noises. We spent two days hiking in Girraween National Park, which is about a 20 minute drive away.
