Ease of check in.  Great communication.  Spotlessly clean and comfortable and believe you me, it was bitter chill in Ballarat this weekend.  The bed offered electric blanket and air conditioner made the small apartment so cosy warm, and so sweetly charming, all I could wish for.  So much more than I expected.  Warm staff, comfortable bed, spacious with country biscuits!!  I can only say, charm and generosity are here in abundance.  I luxuriated in the hot spa - with a happy smile.  Lovely memories made.

Comfortable place to stay in Central Ballarat 

Comfortable residence.  Very good bed.  Decided against train travel and took car instead.  Very happy with the decision.  Long walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions.  Our unit was upstairs.  Quite steep and needed help to carry up cases.  Very good heater - heated whole unit.  Electric blankets on beds.

3 day trip

We stayed at this apartment in Ballarat and found it to be a little quirky. Staying in the second floor apartment with a spa bath that shuts off at 8.00pm and a very small and under equipped kitchen. Beds were fine but the shower head fell off. One very annoying point is the steep staircase you need to climb. Taking bags up and down was an absolute joy that was somewhat dangerous. No secure parking so we had to leave the car on the street overnight.

Reception closes about 10pm with no easy way of collecting you key after this time.

Absolutely disgusting treatment from Ballarat Station Apartments. If you are considering staying, I’d advise you to reconsider. We received very poor treatment and management were incredibly unreasonable and rude and refused to discuss our issues in an appropriate and reasonable manner. My partner and I booked here for 1 night for an engagement party in Ballarat. I was informed by the manager than in the case of my engagement being rescheduled, I would be offered a change of date (and a full refund would be offered if travel restrictions applied). Melbourne came out of lockdown a couple days before the engagement, however, the engagement was rescheduled due to density restrictions. I contacted Ballarat Station Apartments and asked for the date to be rescheduled and said that I would pay the full amount now. However the manager told me that he would not offer me a change of date or refund at all. He told me that I had asked too late and “it had nothing to do with him that it had been rescheduled”. He also pretended that he knew nothing about the reschedule policy, even though I sent screenshots of it being clearly stated in an email. In my email 2 weeks ago, I asked for their policies regarding COVID-19 and I was told that I would be offered a change of date/refund. I was even told not to worry!
I am incredibly disgusted at this. I feel as though we were deliberately not told about this “COVID-19 late fee” so we wouldn’t cancel before the free period. I understand the pandemic has been hard on businesses. However this is no reason to target people like myself who were just trying to support regional vic by staying a night. I’m disgusted at this treatment, I have had the same thing happen at 2 other places I have booked to stay at and my experience was nothing like this. Don’t support them.

Very poorly treated

I was a mistake booking this place. Not a mistake I regret. It was only one night but a welcome relief from motels. A little old fashioned but a very relaxing. I will be back the next time in Ballarat 

Unknown delight 

We had the 2 bedroom apartment up the steep stairs. It's a good size for a family of 4, it's hot but the 2 air conditioners worked well. It's a small kitchen but we cooked most meals over our 3 night stay in the apartment. The spa is lovely you just have to remember that it turns off at 8pm as it's noisy for the downstairs guests but the kids loved it and it kept them entertained before dinner. 
It was a lovely place to stay close enough to shops ect but quite enough to relax. 

Lovely old apartments 

I was staying in Ballarat for only one night, and I just needed to be close to The Sporting Globe, Train Station and the Regent Theatre. This spot was perfect.

A couple days before check-in I received a text message with information on how to check in, connect to WiFi, times, etc. which was incredibly useful as these apartments are a self check-in situation.

While I was there I made a list of pros and cons as I spent my time there. 

Firstly, that was probably the easiest check in. The building only offers 5 apartments, and I was in #3. What I found when I entered the room was a charming little space, dated, like most of Ballarat - but was still relatively updated and maintained with some modern features. 

The bed featured an electric blanket, and clean, fresh linen. There was also extra linen in a chest beside the bed if necessary, but the heater did a great job at heater the room  (the split system, I didn't use the smaller heater).

Unfortunately when I went to use the spa it had the wrong plug for the bath, so the bath wouldn't actually fill and I was left to hold it down WHILE I ran the bath and was in it, eventually I tried the basin plug instead which seemed to fit better.  Additionally the bath was NOT very clean at all, and I only noticed once it was filled that there were small hairs, dirt and fluff all rising to the top before I even got in the bath.

I also brought along my macbook laptop, and for those who know how a macbook charger is 'bulky', know that it won't fit in any of the outlets unless you use the extension/regular cord. (The power outlet in the bathroom is higher up and allows for an Apple charger)

I found that when I got to the room the blinds were up far too high, and I had to drag a chair around and stand on it in order to pull them all down to get any privacy, as Room #3 windows face onto the main thoroughfare that guests use.

Considering how close it was to the Station, I heard virtually no train/station noises at all until I got outside, which was great and meant I got to sleep alright.

The room itself was a decent size, and included a small lounge room, bedroom, ensuite, and a kitchen/dining area. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, utensils, fridge, microwave, etc. I did have to re-wash a couple dishes before I used them, but I expect that from most apartments.

My only other complaints is that many people left early, which meant hearing the stairs creak many times as they were going up and down and bringing down their bags.

Otherwise, this was a nice stay, and I'd like to stay here again. All of the 'issues' I had were fixable without needing to contact the manager/landlord.

Old Charm with a Modern Twist

Fabulous heritage property tastefully and cleverly divided in apartments.  Really clean with amazing tub and linens.  Everything we needed including toiletries and coffee tea etc..great communications with easy access and clear instructions from off site overseer.  Loved our time in this lovely apartment close to the charming ballarat city centre....many thanks
