We resided in Bellerive House during the two last days of our journey in Tasmania, and it proved the cherry on the cake that this island really is. David and Jacqueline spoiled us nearly to death and made sure everything was in top shape every single minute of the day. Bellerive House itself oozes history and style and it's a pleasure to spend some time in the living room or the most enjoyable kitchen. And the breakfast we enjoyed at Bellerive House was truly Australian Masterchef worthy: looking astonishing and tasting even better. And thanks, David, for the most delicious paninis  you prepared for us. It's also an excellent hub to explore Mount Wellington, the Tasmanian Botanical Garden, and the city itself. So all in all, it is the place to be if you are in Hobart or surroundings. We'll definitely return here when back in Tasy!

Hospitality and class like nowhere else

Bellerive House is an absolutely immaculate property that oozes charm, elegance and sophistication. The love and care of the property that the owners take translates into the guest experience. David and Jacqueline were so welcoming, you felt like your were entering home yet a luxurious escape. The Derwent room was a masterpiece of space and style with all the things needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Super comfy bed, en-suite, TV, bar fridge and delicious treats to enjoy with a cup of tea. 

You chose your breakfast from an extensive selection the night before. The breakfast was amazing. 2 courses beginning with a continental style first course followed by a cooked breakfast from 9 different options on the menu. Accompanied by fresh squeezed juice, tea and coffee. 

All the fine details were covered. Honestly far superior to a hotel. 5 stars isn’t enough, it was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had. 6 star B&B and would love to return one day.

Absolutely Stunning

I was visiting the University of Tasmania and my host booked a room ("The Bellerive Room") at Bellerive House for me.  It was wonderful.  Jacqueline met me when I arrived (David had not yet returned from some yachting) and introduced me to the various public rooms in the house, as well as my own bedroom.  Everything about the place is well-considered and classy.  Beautiful vases of flowers, a sumptuous bed, a remarkable variety of breakfast options to select the night before, some of the best creamy scrambled egg I've had, and a willingness to chat freely without overdoing it.  If I were going to watch a match at the nearby Bellerive Oval, I would certainly return!

A warmer welcome is hard to imagine

Came for 2 nights, David and his wife were wonderful hosts. Everything here is top notch, the rooms, the sitting area, the gorgeous breakfast, the hitting in the floor and especially the garden and all the beautiful roses. 
We loved everything minute of our stay. Can’t recommend it enough. 

Exceptional B&B

This is a very belated review.  We stayed with David and Jacqueline in Jan and Feb of 2018.  They were perfect hosts,  very helpful in recommendations of places to eat and advice on getting around and organized.  Breakfasts were wonderful.  Of all the B & B's we stayed in Tasmania this was by far the best.  Would stay with them again if we ever visit Hobart again.

Wonderful hosts,  would stay again

Highly recommend. Beautiful room, spectacular bathroom. A classic historic home, impeccably furnished. We will never stay anywhere else. Close to clubs and historic sites. Short drive to Hobart. Great views.

Elegant, luxurious accommodation, impeccable hospitality

David and Jacqueline are the perfect hosts.  Their house and bedrooms are fantastic and much better than anything you'd get in any 5 star hotel in the CBD.  We had to delay our visit and they were extremely accommodating. 

We had a car but left it parked in the carport and caught Uber's into the CBD so we could enjoy a glass or two of wine.  Cost of the Uber was around $12 each way so very reasonable. 

I'd highly recommend Bellerive House and are looking forward to our next visit.

Fantastic place to stay

Excellent BnB.   Rooms were lovely as was view and though it is on a main road, you don't hear any traffic. Bed was soft, lots of extras such as afternoon tea on arrival, roses in the room etc.  Breakfast menu had quite a few good choices and both our meals were excellent!

That only very small thing I wasn't a fan of was that the showerhead in our room was one of those very wide 'rain water' style shower heads very high up on a high alcove ceiling, rather than an option for a handheld showerhead on a sliding rod in the shower which most other places had, which is what I much prefer.  The high up shower head had a very diffuse flow which made it harder to get well rinsed and since I don't wash my hair every day I prefer to not have to stand fully under a tall showerhead. Perhaps other rooms don't have the same type of showerhead as ours did, might be worth asking if that is your preference too.  

But except for that small detail everything was amazing and beautiful!

Beautiful place with lots of personal touches

We spent 3 nights at this excellent B & B. David and Jacqueline were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were unhurried and the food was delicious. We had a car and so the location was also great, as we could easily move around Hobart. 
We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Hobart.

Perfect Stay

One of the best hosting experiences we had in our trip in australia. The house is lovely and the hosts take care of the tiniest little detail. The house is even better than the pictures. The breakfast is an experience per se, as every morning you can choose from a different range of dished made out of mostly local delicious products. The bed is comfortable and big (at least in the mount  wellington room) and the bathroom is spacious and coZy. The hosts are very helpful and super nice, they take care of you and always have great advice if you ask. If we had to go back to this lovely region, we would definitely choose Bellerive house again!
