We're regulars at Al Mare because of the great location, the feeling of privacy, and the neat as a pin accommodation. You can see the sun rise over the ocean from the comfortable bed, the veranda is perfect for watching the sea in all weathers, and there's space enough to relax and read, enjoy your takeaway from the local shops, or even 'work from home'. Gary and Judy are attentive hosts, and have just put in a powerpoint in the undercover parking area so I can trickle charge my electric car from their solar power. We'll be back.

We had such a lovely stay here, right on the beach very private with beautiful views and fantastic facilities.

I would highly recommend staying here.

AMAZING

We stayed at Al Mare over New Years for
My baby moon. We were greeted by Judy . She was lovely
And explained everything thoroughly. Lovely
Place to stay for piece and quiet. The view in the morning is serene. Central to shops restaurants and great beach fishing which my husband enjoyed.

We had the perfect getaway, relaxing, comfortable and just amazing.  You feel relaxed from the moment you walk in the door.  To be able to walk out the door and be on the beach for a morning walk and swim was amazing.  To relax on the deck and watch the moon rise and in the morning to watch the sunrise was fantastic.  The bed the comfortable and the facilities immaculate.  Thank you for a great short break away.

Fantastic Weekend at Al Mare

We just wanted to thank you again for providing the perfect getaway, I scoured the Internet and just literally tripped over this little piece of heaven as a surprise for my partners birthday. We had such a beautiful time just watching the world pass by and the unexpected pleasures of whales all weekend and pods of dolphins right out our sliding door, just glorious. Accommodation was spacious yet cosy and catered for everything so if you didn't want to go out you didn't have to. Games, novels, cards, binoculars (which came in very handy with the wildlife), Foxtel, audio, fully equipped kitchenette, all was just outstanding and we most certainly will be back to enjoy it again. Loved the Adult Only status and no visitor policy ensured a perfectly peaceful private retreat. What a treat!

Perfect Romantic Winter Beachside Getaway

We arrived on a Friday and were greeted by the hosts (retirees who live upstairs). They called ahead and checked we were ok and on our way. Lovely, friendly and knowledgeable on the area. Gave us a run down on everything in the room and gave us some good food spots to go during our three day stay.

Location is brilliant. You can walk out to the beach no shoes and wade in the water at low tide. I suggest exploring the various rock pools and waterways created by the eroded sandstone, really quite cool. One of the most interesting beaches I’ve been to in sometime.

The room was clean and reasonably well laid out. There is a kitchenette and the basic necessities to make simple meals, the knives desperately need sharpening. The only things we believe really needed some work were the decor (very 90s old and needing updating) and some minor maintenance issues. We were woken by one of the hosts walking in without knocking. A mistake no less, but a knock would’ve been at the very least polite.

Probably something more for the older generations rather than younger; there was port waiting in a decanter. 

A bit of a decor upgrade and this stay would’ve been more in the realm of the money asked for.

That said location, location, location.

Great location... decor needing an update

I've never written a bad review however I feel the need to in this instance. 
I wish I had read the reviews before booking this place. 
It is outdated with no bathrobes (as specified on website) no air conditioning and a HOT PLATE as a bbq! Definitely not worth what you pay for it. 
If I had known the old retiree owners lived upstairs, I would have never booked this place. The minute we arrived we were told how to park our car, what we can and can't do, even what chairs to sit on outside if we were to smoke! They watch you as you leave, as you return, when you go down to the beach, it's like being in the big brother house! 
On our second night we got a knock on the door from the owner telling us to turn the music down, the music was not loud at all and it was 8pm!!! 
The next day my sisters were passing through the coast so we went down to the beach and walking back up to the property (so they could get their shoes) Judy the owner was waiting for us upstairs on her balcony and asked my sisters to leave as they were not allowed on the property. 
I wish I had read the reviews earlier as I can see that Judy turned a family away WITH NO REFUND who arrived from overseas and paid in full just because they had a 2 year old with them. The service is disgusting. She has no morals at all and is very rude! She reminds me of the grandmother from flowers in the attic! 
I do not recommend staying at this place unless you want to sit there with no music, no tv and have your every move watched.
