We stayed at Autumn Abode Cottage One in Bright for three nights, and would definitely return! A comfortable little cottage, with good living space, dining table and separate bedroom. It’s close to the Alpine Way, but in a quiet location with views up the hills. The rail trail is just across the access road (Turntable Terrace), so great for cyclists and walkers.
We had some car problems and the on-call contact, Emma, quickly sorted out a late checkout and then an extra night.
And Bright is a great location!

Cottage No. 7.  (Disclaimer.  The photos of Autumn Abode appear exactly the same as Autumn Beauty - I'm assuming the property has changed hands since the original reviews)
My daughter and I had a pleasant 7-night stay.  The cottage is very pretty and well decorated.  However our interaction with the Property Owner and Managers, Bright Escapes, left a sour taste in our mouths, so much so, we will never return to this accommodation again.  
The fridge in the cottage is a small bar type fridge with an ice chest. 
The first time we used the freezer compartment the little plastic door fell off.  'Oh well, we're on holidays so let's not stress'.  Then there was a constant beeping all night, so we didn't get any sleep.  It wasn't until the next day when trying to boil some eggs we realised it was the electric cook top not working.  OK, so again we let this go as we had the BBQ and we were on holidays to relax, not report faults and wait around for repairmen to come.

A week after we return home we get quite a nasty email from Bright Escapes who manage the property. "Our cleaner reported the small screen for the freezer inside the bar fridge was broken at Autumn Beauty 7 after your stay.  The cost for a replacement was $49.50, we will require you to cover the cost of this. After speaking with the manufacturer they are not certain whether or not this will be able to be fitted securely. In the event that it cannot be fitted, we will need to replace the fridge.   We should have the part within the next couple of weeks, I will let you know if there are any further issues. 
Please advise if you are happy for the $49.50 to be deducted from the card held on file, or if you would prefer to pay via bank transfer".

Seriously!  And yes the manufacturer even agrees that the new door might not fit securely just like the old one clearly didn't - sounds like a manufacturing issue and not ours!   And no, we won't be paying for a brand new fridge!  And don't even try and send a bill to us for your broken hotplate.

Adding to all this, when first booking the accommodation my Corporate Meal and Travel Card was accepted. Then when trying to make the final payment with this very same card it wasn't accepted.  On contacting Bright Escapes - we were advised the owner had 'changed their platform' and these cards aren't accepted.  All very inconvenient when the card is for this very purpose.  Be very, very wary as they will try and sting you for wear and tear and faulty workmanship.

The cottage was well appointed, neat and tidy, well furnished 

Nice outside area to sit with a lovely garden outlook.

It’s hard to find fault. 

A dishwasher would’ve been nice but not essential.

Autumn Abode is the perfect accomodation to explore beautiful Bright. I have been coming to the area for 30 years and can't believe I have just found these amazing cottages. Thank you Gil and Lars for providing such clean and wonderful surroundings for your guests. We cannot wait to return!

Perfect cottage getaway

Loved staying at Autum abode cottages. It was a family vacation and the property was wonderful, clean and the children were able to play outside. We bike rode, tobogganing at Mt Hotham and ride horses 4hrs at Bogong! Simply perfect 

Clean comfortable great location and the host was wonderful in making recommendations around Bright etc.

Enjoyed our recent stay at this property. The cottages are one block back from the main street and are wonderfully quiet. The rail trail passes right by the front door. Cottage was spotless with everything provided. Surrounding gardens are well maintained & clearly a lot of attention is given to small details. If I have one small criticism it would be that the shower pressure was a tad disappointing, but in saying that I would certainly stay here again. Hard to past in terms of overall comfort, quite and amenities.

Quiet location

Fabulous little cottages with all amenities. Fully furnished 2 bedrooms, 2 toilets, 1 bathroom, kitchen-dining plus lounge and laundry. Beds are comfortable, plenty of linen supplied. Small deck out front with seating, umbrella and shady tree

Great location, walking distance into town centre

This cottage is around 10 minutes walk into Bright in a quiet location opposite the walking trail with off site parking for one car.  We stayed in the two bedroom cottage (although there was only two of us) which has two toilets one being in the laundry so good if you are travelling with two couples as the bathroom is small.   The shower appears to be newly tiled so lovely and clean as is the rest of the cottage.   There is heating in every room and the free wifi worked well.
