We loved our stay at the Brunswick. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to the Bushfires. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff friendly. It’s a relaxed place with a beautiful swimming pool and handy Mexican restaurant directly across the road.

Little great gem, from moment we checked in the experience was easy, good amenities and love the free bike hire to ride around the area.

Rooms were modern and bed super comfy for a short stay.

Would recommend to anyone who wishes to stay at a great little gem and would come back.

A gem in an oasis area

This is an amazing place. They’ve taken an original motel on the old pacific hwy and made it such a cool hotel. Rooms are spacious and incredibly the clean. Booking was simple, the pre arrival contact was super professional and the staff are seriously good. The girl that checked me in was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the pub, which is a destination in itself. Whenever I’m working in Ballina or Byron I make this my stopover.

Old hotel renovated to a relaxed modern style.  A desk and chair would have been good as there was minimal furniture.  Beautiful Leif products in the bathroom and sink.  Air conditioning didn't work well but there was a ceiling fan which was nice and quiet.  Bit noisy in the morning with people departing early.  

Had the best meal at the mexican place across the street which was so convenient.  Small bike ride around town was cool too.

Relaxed boho chic

I totally enjoyed my seven-night stay at The Brunswick. My room was spotless, spacious and well-appointed, and unlike many hotels I’ve stayed in, the wifi never dropped out. The staff, especially Alice, could not have been more helpful and efficient. My only niggle - the bedside lights can’t be switched off from the bed, but still, I would highly recommend.

I was always told that ‘fools and their money are easily parted’, and more fool I for spending in excess of $310 a night to stay at the Brunswick; an old highway motel that has been (not very well) repainted white and then more over ambitiously photographed than your last Tinder date. And less charm too, with more blank walls than the nearest mental health facility. A failed attempt at Palm Springs styling, a place which couldn’t have felt farther away. 

Highlights of our stay included reusing the previous day’s towels, that had to be left to age in the mouldy bathroom without a fan (photos below), the complete absence of any customary inclusions (such as a bottle of water, lotion, shampoo or conditioner) which wasn’t particularly problematic, given the transitory supply of hot water from the limpid shower. I would also warn others not to fail to observe in the hotel’s photos that the sink is in the bedroom. 

Upon raising the issue of beach towels, I was informed that the hotel’s washing machine had broken, which begs the question of whether a hotel that charges so much ought have more than one day’s towel contingency.

To be fair, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The pool also looked more appealing than any I had seen at similar motels. A fair price would have been circa $200.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Brunswick for 3 nights, We wish it could have been longer! The girl on reception was very professional and also very friendly! Our room was 206 and was tastefully decorated in a coastal Hamptons style. The bed was really comfortable as were the  pillows. The furnishings were very stylish as well. The toiletries in the room are the Leif Brand and are just beautiful to use. The TV is also a Smart TV so you can access your Netflix. The room was spotlessly clean and the Brunswick is located in a fantastic position and is an easy flat walk into town to enjoy the many cafes, restaurants, shops, beach or river. The Brunswick has a beautiful pool area with ample sun lounges and there is an area next to the pool to enjoy a drink and a snack. The check in was easy and the staff communicate with you about your time of arrival and if you would like anything, which is a really lovely touch! This was our first time staying in Brunswick Heads, we usually stay in Byron. We had such a great time we will be back and we actually prefer Brunswick Heads to Byron. It is so close to Byron but much quieter. We will most  definitely be back again and again! Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!

Totally Amazing!

Firstly let me state that the staff has been very helpful! The pictures on the web are very enticing and definitely skillfully taken. I assume the intention was to "do over" an old, tired, traditionally shaped motel, but the outcome didn't work for me: on the plus-side it's clean, nice bed and fresh paint, however the room is rather sparsely furnished. Coffee/Tea making only, no other means to consume any food. The bathroom sink is in the room, which creates a strange feel. The shower/toilet is super-narrow, hardly able to turn. Moreover it's a sound chamber: all sounds are amplified. Other than leaving the front and backdoor open, there is no way to create air circulation 
. Finally the location is on a bend road, so traffic noise is all around you from 5am til late.

Great location, friendly staff and good food. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Good choice of food and beverages. Wednesday is $20 steak night- lovely eye fillet cooked perfectly for $20 - doesn’t get much better. Zzzzzz
