My husband and I stayed 2 nights with a camper/powered site. We booked online. We asked for a refund but no luck. No platforms for your van, flooded site/muddy. We were in the “Trash”  area. Disgusting shanties, rusty dirty caravans apparently hired out for stays. Obviously the council gets money from these owners who don’t fix up their accomodation.  Internet not working. Not secure as no fence around park near a community park. The cabin areas are modern, camp kitchen, pool, jumping pillows. Amenities old. Would never stay here again. I will be writing a letter to the Mayor of this area. It is council run.

Most disgusting place to stay

This caravan park was an absolute disgrace in terms of cleanliness. The showers/toilet blocks were putrid! Toilets covered in wee and poo, doors that won’t lock, floors covered in hair and other disgusting items. My 12 year old daughter was showering and both handles on the shower taps fell off! Totally unacceptable and so unsafe. Hand soap was always empty, the drains were all blocked so when you showered you stood in ankle deep water covered in other peoples hair! The roads around the park are full of huge pot holes and extremely unsafe for little kids to ride bikes or elderly people walking around the park. The playground and jumping pillow were inundated with large adult children. This meant our smaller children were not able to access these areas as it was too unsafe for them. The pool area was lovely however I didn’t see it cleaned or maintained during our entire stay. This park is in need of a HUGE maintenance overhaul. Very disappointed.

Dirty, run down.

I had the misfortune of staying at Budgewoi Caravan Park for approximately 6 weeks during lockdown.  The location was lovely but the park itself needs a lot of maintenance.  The shower block was dirty as was the laundry.  I cleaned the toilets myself on four separate occasions as I couldn't stand them being dirty when I had to use them.  I also cleaned the laundry room and dryers out as they hadn't been cleaned in a while.  When I complained to the local council (as it is a council owned park run and managed by NRMA I believe) I was referred to the NRMA.  A man called me regarding my complaint and I was told to be careful making complaints in the future.  He was of no help at all.  A week before we left the shower and laundry block we were using had no hot water and I believe there is still not hot water and the whole block has been shut down.  We were told the amenities were cleaned daily but two weeks went by and the amenities were not cleaned.  I would not recommend staying at the park until the amenity blocks etc were updated.

Would not recommend

We are staying here right now and i can honestly say it's my favourite caravan park we've ever visited.  Great facilities for the kids, with a really great pool,  playground and massive jumping pillow.  
The place is clean and the staff are friendly.  The atmosphere is fabulous.  Cannot fault it!

Best place for kids and pets

Well maintained facilities, powered sites located close the shores of Munmorah Lake. The sites are pretty level and spacious. Lovely parkland with spotless barbecues, perfect for a group get together and nice and quiet. Plentiful Wifi. 
The staff are friendly and helpful, walking distance to the shopping centre. A big tick from us. 

Lovely Lakeside location

Lovely outlook over the lake. Short walk to the beach and small centre nearby with good hotel & takeaway food. Lots of families enjoying the pool & playground. Large shady van site with view across Lake. Amenities clean and several throughout the large park.

We used to LOVE coming here to stay but our recent trip was atrocious. New management may explain it.
In addition to the collection of dead flies, dirt and toenails that I noticed on the floor after my baby tried to eat them, we spent our first half hour there cleaning.
We then removed a top bunk mattress to use as a bed bumper for a toddler and found an exposed nail under the mattress, tip pointing up. It was easily long enough to injure a child jumping around. We removed the nail but would advise people check beds in other cabins.
Lastly the front door fell off its railings when my daughter threaded her fingers through the metal mesh, and it landed on her head. 
After reporting this last issue to management (which we also did two years ago when we stayed in the same cabin) we were fobbed off with a cold response. I have emailed the property since, multiple times, and not once was an apology offered, or a question asked after my daughters well being. I gave them ample chance to act like human beings before writing this review. Monsters.

DANGEROUS for children 

This place is great!
Everything you need , fishing, camping, pool, air trampoline fantastic.
Great restaurants nearby, track to ride, or walk.
The staff are magnificent  and all the amenities
it all becomes perfect.

Beautiful lace to stay

Spent 3 nights on the Long Weekend in 2 cabins.
Five adults and 5 kids were comfortably accommodated in large cabins which were well equipped.
Good facilities for the children with a lovely modern pool, jumping pad and bikes and canoes for hire.
They also organised an activity each day such as a blue light disco, treasure hunt and an outdoor movie.
Nice setting beside the lake and the beach is 5 minutes walk away.

Great for kids

I cannot praise budgewoi holiday park enough, from the time we arrived till the unfortunate time we had to leave we had the best time. The staff are super friendly and dont mind a chat about the local area for things to do, which made our time here alot easier with the help we got. The amenities are well cleaned and the new addition of the pool area and childrens playground is great. There are ample bbqs scattered throughout the park and I dont think Ive seen a bbq that clean in a holiday park ever. We stayed in the lorikeet cabins and really couldnt fault it. Sure there is the odd marks and doors that squeak but considering many people stay in them its to be expected. It shocked us to find that there was a full kitchen, bathroom with both a bath and shower(not many have separate). We arrived a few days before a long weekend and by friday the park was at capacity with caravans/tents etc. The cabins are located close to the playground/bounce pillow and pool which was a bonus. The noise was near non existent when in the cabin. The holiday park is located within walking distance to cafes/restaurants/take aways and Pub with coles and other speciality shops a quick 3min drive up the road. With what we experienced we cant wait to return and make more memories.
