We were met by a friendly staff member and shown our room.  It was adequate but depressing.  The main reason we were disappointed with the room we were shown is that there was no wardrobe or fridge and it was just a bed in the room with no other furniture and a standard bathroom. We asked if there was a room with somewhere to hang our clothes at least and it was suggested a hat stand might suit! We asked if there were any rooms available with a wardrobe and we were shown another room that did indeed have a wardrobe but no hangers!!! ….who travels with clothes hangers?!!!  I’ve done a lot of travelling and seen many hotel rooms but never one without somewhere to hang your clothes. We were then shown a larger room which had a hat stand but no wardrobe and because it had a table, kitchenette and fridge we asked if we could book this but we had to pay a further $390 for the five nights. Apparently it is usually $340 per night. We reluctantly accepted this extra cost…still no wardrobe or anywhere to put clothes!!!…not even a set of drawers. However the most disappointing aspect was there was no housekeeping during those 5 nights. Coffee, tea, biscuits, toiletries and towels were not replenished and the bins not emptied. No attempt to make the bed…no checking of the room or bathroom at all. We would have expected that especially as we paid $280 per night. Most hotel accommodations would have provided housekeeping during a 5 night stay. 
Last night we were there we didn’t get much sleep as other patrons were very noisy until 4.30a.m. in the communal room which is alongside the rooms…no escaping the noise as it’s on the same floor!!!
Food was good and the garden great in the evenings. Rump and rib special was excellent. Friendly staff in the restaurant. 
Breakfast not available at the hotel but some excellent cafes nearby. 
Shame some finishing touches weren’t there as this review could have been very different.

Great venue disappointing housekeeping

Worst experience here. Everyone else at my table received their meals and then some waitress comes out and sheepishly states we've sent your meal to the wrong table. It's going to be another 10 minutes for us to cook another pizza. By the time the pizza finally arrives the rest of my table had finished their meals. The pizza I received was by far substantial at best. 

How hard is it to get an order correct. 

Attended with 3 others, and our first time visiting this hotel.  We were there for lunch.   Menu had a very good list of meals, and easy to read. Staff very professional and friendly.  Meals were above average in quantity but, excellent quality.  High Recommended,

Visited for lunch on  Wednesday.  It was very busy,  but service was very quick and efficient.  On perusal of the menu,  we found it very expensive for a country pub.  The only main for under $20 was a hot dog.  Even burgers ranged from $22 - $27, and many mains were well into the $30s. I ordered the pork belly with fennel and rocket salad.  It was worth every cent of the $36 spent. Cooked to absolutely perfection, crispy and delicious.  The accompanying salad was full of flavour and so yummy! Would definitely order again.  Both the others I was with ordered the Karrage chicken burger, one with sweet potato fries as per the menu,  and one with regular fries. Presentation was inconsistent - one coming out with just a regular hamburger bun, and the other coming out with a fancy brioche bun with black and white sesame seeds.  I was told the burgers were pretty average.  At the bar, service was quick and friendly,  but sparkling wine could only be purchased in tiny bottles,  not by the glass, which was odd. Overall, a very pleasant visit,  and we will be back.  

Great Pork Belly at the restaurant 

The rooms have recently been refurbished. Beds are beautiful and very comfy. We had 4 queen rooms all with ensuite or bathroom. Very clean with large TV. There is a common room with fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities, but it lacks a TV.  One of our family was visited, at about 11pm, by one of the 3 ghosts that are said to be there. The others in the group were discussing the "ghosts" the night before the young lady had arrived and didn't discuss the ghost with her before her experience. Anyway, it was a very comfortable stay. Their efforts to get the 8 of us to a wedding were also appreciated.

Great place to stay with friendly staff.

Busy pub bistro on a Saturday night. Didn’t book, plenty of the tables were reserved but managed to get seated. Food came out quickly, friendly service too.
Shared the fiji coconut prawn entree, prawns not large but a reasonable amount of them. Special rump steak with hickory sauce was also fine. 
Wine list had a good selection of different Australian and international bottles.

Standard pub grub

We have been here many times over the years and unfortunately the meals are getting worse with every visit. Small size over priced very average pub food. $30 beef Curry special with 3 small pieces of beef and lots of sauce served Luke warm at best, absolutely terrible. Over cooked schnitzels as well.
Unfortunately this place has gone downhill.

Hostess for checking in lovely.  Really friendly and nice greeting.
Barman got out of wrong side of bed.
Kitchen staff taking orders needed more training, she couldn't answer basic menu questions.  With more training she would be great.

Food was standard for pub/bistro.  Servings large.  Food came out fast.  Needed more salad for the dressing.  Lots and lots of dressing, salad was soaking.

The view from windows of the hills is beautiful.  Definitely a nice spot

Restaurant Visit Okay

My mum and I went to the Canungra Hotel today for a cup luncheon. I have to honestly say that the sea food and the rest of the buffet was the freshest and most delicious food I have had for many years!!! It had everything too, prawns, oysters, bugs and crab claws… plus roast meats, fish, salads and heaps more. The staff were brilliant, friendly and quick too.  And all for only $55 per person!!!!!!!! I cannot recommend this place high enough, a fabulous experience all round! ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely Fabulous Melbourne Cup Luncheon

We just wanted to commend the fantastic staff who found us a table under cover in the Beer garden in a thunderstorm with pouring rain. We had booked for the Bistro because of the dog but the tables were wet as they were covered by shade cloth and not waterproof. The staff went out of their way to not only solve the issue but brought out our food in torrential rain. Cheerful and welcoming and smiling despite going well beyond the call of duty. Greatly appreciated by us and made a wonderful memory for our weekend away.
