The venue advertise as a romantic beach front getaway. But cabins very small and basic 2-3 star not even a chair in the room and no view. Solid louvre in cabin when open people walking past look in as well as basic low budget decking and furniture

Cape Disappointment

Being part of the rainforest and right next to the beach was so special. Pair this with the gorgeous rooms set surrounded by the forest really made the experience something very special. Then let's talk about the food created by Chef Clem, it truly was exquisite, we went back and it did not disappoint. The service by all of the wait staff was so lovely, they spent time to chat and made the whole experience wonderful. We will most definitely be back. Thank you!

An experience I will never forget ❤️

We stayed for 4 nights at Cape Trib Beach House and it was a fantastic experience. The resort is situated slightly away from the shops at Cape Tribulation ( 3 minute drive) , within the rainforest and on the beach. The cabins are self contained, and comfortable. And the entire place is peaceful and quiet- except for some bird calls and the sound of the ocean.
The beach is a wide and long expanse of white sand at low tide, along which you are able to walk to Kulki  Lookout ( about 1 km down the beach). Otherwise, it is a quiet and relaxing place to sit in the shade under the trees on chairs provided and just watch the day go by. 
It's not a beach you are able to swim at- like most of  the beaches in far north Queensland , there are salt water crocodiles to be aware of.
The Tides Bar and Restaurant provides good quality food and reasonably priced drinks- an easy place to get a cold beer or glass of wine to enjoy on the beach.
The staff were friendly and helpful and  we a very relaxing and restful time there. Highly recommended


Cape Trib R and R.

Great beachfront locality nestled in tranquil beautiful rainforest.
This accommodation complex boxes well above it’s weight - understated charm, recently renovated rooms, staff falling over themselves to assist.
We are a couple but loved the family vibe - no party animals raging till early hours in the morning 
Stayed 4 night so tried 3 other restaurants. None as good as Tides Restaurant which has a simple local menu using locale products cooked extremely well at a very reasonable price.
All this on a deserted beach!

Best value accommodation in the Daintree

Lovely two night stay.  Stayed here many years ago and was happy to see it has kept it's standard up.  Bit disappointed they have closed the camp kitchen but meals in the restaurant were good - just a bit limited menu.
Our Ribbon cottage was very comfortable with great bedding and still has a fridge.  Too cool to swim but the pool area is still very inviting.
And the best bit - it's location.  So quiet, surrounded by, and in, pristine rainforest and right on the beach - and no phone or TV reception!

Beautiful location

Cape Tribulation is beautiful, and in the main there are great restaurants and other facilities. The people were, mainly, friendly.
Except at the Cape Trib Beach house.
On the upside, the location is excellent and the cabins are OK, although expect everything to get damp as they are made from wood. To be fair, that should be expected in the tropical north wet season.
However, don’t expect to get lunch. The hotel advertises lunch as being from 12-230, but when collecting a lunch menu at 12, my wife was told “no food until after 1”. This was due to the 3 tour buses that arrive for lunch at 12. As a result, the Chefs refuse to cook for the in house guests. This isn’t a one off - it’s every day. So maybe they should just be honest and share this with their in house guests.
I did speak with a gentleman called Dean. I’m not sure if he was the opener of the manager - he didn’t say. Either way, he was rude, and pretty hostile. He asked what my problem was and made it clear that he was not interested in listening to me, as tour buses are their priority.
We ate lunch elsewhere, and also had a wonderful dinner in a local restaurant. We did not spend another cent in the Cape Trib Beach house. Clearly, Dean and co do not want money from in house guests once the rooms are paid for.
In summary, Cape Tribulation is brilliant and definitely worth a visit.
Just don’t stay here, they do not deserve your money.

I am writing this review really for other family visitors

The gardens, grounds and beach are beautiful.
If you are rich and like eating meat you may like the restaurant.
If you are a couple , the rooms are small but okay. They are clean. 

If you are a family of 4....the rooms are too small and the expensive food prices start to get to you after more than one sitting. Vegetarian options are limited, overpriced and just not great. (sorry chefs/cooks...just being honest). The resort has no self catering facilities. 

Family Advice:  Cape Trib is fantastic, lots to see and do (zip lines, horse riding, science night walks with Ian etc). But it is a captive market, and prices are high. Bring your own food/snacks for the kids before you cross the river. Try to book a place with a kitchen if you can. 

NB Obviously the restaurant is a big money maker at lunchtime with day trippers on tour eating the same menu of fish'n'chips or meat'n'chips every day. Most guests are probably happy to pay once and might enjoy the deep fried food. Classic Aussie fish'n'chip shop food.   
But I do wonder what other vegetarians and people from Asian and sub-continent backgrounds think when they look at the menu. Lets hope the cooks have the ability to make something slightly more diverse someday. Vegan is not such an unknown word these days.  

We loved the nature in Cape Trib but just didnt like the Beach House rooms or food or expense for a family. 

If I went again I would find a place with cooking facilities.

Beautiful location but tough for a family

Such a beautiful location and the staff are amazing. So tranquil being in the rainforest and access to a private beach. The restaurant was also great and good value compared to what else is available in the area. We came back for a second night after another place we booked was subpar and they upgraded us and already had a cot available in our room. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. The only downside is there is no kitchenette available, which would have made it absolutely perfect!

Highly recommend

A super amazing stay. Clean room and comfy bedding. Short walk to the restaurant and beach. The meals were amazing and the staff were wonderful to deal with. I'm looking forward to our next stay hopefully in the next few months. I highly recommend it. The walks along the beach are wonderful, there are lots of coconut trees, and kids find this fascinating!!

Great place to stay, Clean, wildlife is wonderful, comfy bedding. 

Awesome place to stay. Our Villa was near both the restaurant and bar and pool. The food was top rated and the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. A definite return location!! Our only regret was staying just 1 night. The Beach house is about 1km north of the main beach area which gives no through traffic and our part of a private beach.
