Generous meals at reasonable prices. Friendly staff and just good quality pub food. We had just arrived in town and popped in for lunch. We were very happy with our dining experience. This place is also evidently very popular with the local tradies, always a good sign.

Good pub grub

Arrived at 6:00 ordered at 6:15 for an 8:00 show at CPAC. Table was booked for 7:15  for another group. Meals arrived at 7:45. After being told when we booked we do this all time meals ready in plenty of time for the show. People had to get take away containers. Not good enough

Long wait

Stayed at Hotel 24th.February for a show at CPAC.  Room clean and staff pleasant. Arrived back to room at 11pm and went to bed only to have a large security light on awning facing room which lit the room up like daylight.  Woke at 1.30am and light still bright .  Also mattress so hard felt like sleeping on slab of concrete and pillows very thin. With these 3 problems did not get much sleep.  Mentioned it to Manager next morning and was told will speak to the licencee but absolutely no compensation offered.  Will NEVER stay here again as worst experience i have ever had with accomodation

Dreadful experience

We stayed in a double and single room, which was certainly spacious enough for the three of us. The room was air-conditioned and the bed, comfortable.  Bathroom facilities were just down the hallway, and there was a communal fridge nearby where guests could store their drinks and food. The restaurant downstairs had a good selection of food,  and the bar was open until 1.30am if you wanted to stay up late and catch up with friends over a drink.  Daniel, who was the manager on the afternoon we were there, helped me with a few car troubles, and I found the rest of the staff friendly and courteous. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in Cessnock for one or two nights.

Clean accommodation at a reasonable Price!

We popped in for a drink and decided to get a snack whilst there. We settled on the chicken wings, which ended up being a decent serving for a starter. Whilst it seemed they were slow cooked so fell off the bone and caused a mess they  were delicious! Good local wines. Recommend. 

Short but sweet visit 

We arrived at 6pm for dinner so we could have a leisurely dinner before a show at CPAC at 8 pm. We had ordered our meals by 6.25. Three couples and a single. We ordered and paid separately for the same table. One couple got their meal within 20 minutes, the rest of us got the meal at 7.40. We asked twice about where our meals were and were told we had ordered snitzels and they were quite thick! All around us other tables were getting their meals - a number of whom had arrived after we had ordered. When we asked the second time about our meal the waitress said as you can see we’re very busy - HOW WAS THAT OUR PROBLEM? Most  of us did not finish our meal and we just made the show before the doors closed. I would have been much happier had we received an apology and they admitted they had overlooked our order. We have been here before and have not had an issue, but I believe it has changed hands. We won’t be returning. We wasted our time and money. Thank heavens the Robertson brothers show was fantastic otherwise it would have been a total waste.

Hopeless service

Great renovated room, fresh clean, tea&coffee facility, communal TV lounge.Share bathroom clean.  Friendly staff at bar for key return. Forgot my ear plugs but it was Sat night live music. One night stay as at a function near by.

Clean, comfortable, affordable.

After travelling to Cessnock we can in just before the kitchen was about to close in 5 minutes.. This posed not problem and they were only to happy to accommodate us. They delivered a fantastic meal even increasing the potrion size free of charge. Staff were great to deal with and will be coming back to try again when we have more time.



Great food 

Stayed for a night in September 2018 as one of the cheapest Hotels in the Hunter Valley. 

Staff said their system was down when we checked in and couldn't find our reservation. Needed our email confirmation but couldn't give us wifi (even though advertised with free wifi).

Room was very basic just the bed, one bedside table with a lamp (you couldn't plug in) and a chair. No plug sockets! Seemed clean apart from stained duvet. 

Bathroom across the hall was a bit dated but clean. There was also a 'kitchen' down the hall which was a sink, kettle and fridge. 

The main problem was the hotel is also a bar/club. There was a live band on and the noise was unbelievable. We went downstairs at 11:30 to find out when it would quiet down and they said 1am! Couldn't get any sleep until then. There was even a sign in the hall saying guests mustn't make any noise from 10pm!!!!

Cheap 'hotel' - but you get what you pay for!

A big heads up to the wonderful staff and customer service it was impeccable and such a delight to be served with such kindness and positive attitude,the lady behind the bar with the long dark hair was amazing and friendly and the food was outstanding,,will be going back there for sure
