The rooms and furnitures are clean, kitchen is large and you can enjoy eating and talking with your friends. The area of smoking and non-smoking is separated. Owner and staff are kind and friendly. They tell about work and activities around Coffs Harbour. The rent is a little bit expensive but you can borrow surfboard, bodyboard, kayak, and fishing tools and so on.

Good location and environment to stay

Thanks Gary and your lovely wife for always being there with your excellent staff. You go above and beyond with your affordable daily guided tours, bike rentals, and free rental kayaks and stand up paddle boards. As well free pick up and departure assistance. Thank you for all your efforts and reliability.

Free surf/ kayak/ SUP equipment is a huge plus and the hostel has spotlessly clean facilities.

It also has an awesome layout perfect for meeting new people with different events on everyday.

Had such a good time here both as a short termer the first time then as a long termer the second. 

Perfect Hub in Coffs Harbour 

By far one of the most sociable and clean hostels I have stayed at! The common area / kitchen is ridiculously spacious along with a nice outdoor area which is regularly cleaned. The staff make all the effort to socialise with guests along with running daily tours so that you make the most out of your time in Coffs Harbour (make sure you go on the Emerald Beach and Sunday Market tours). Location is perfect, 5 minute walk down to the beaches, jetty and some bars / cafes etc. Free SUP, kayak and surf hire is also a mega plus with the creek being across the road. As a solo traveller, I made so many friends all thanks to everything on offer. Absolutely cannot fault the place!

Amazing hostel in so many ways!

There’s not a lot to do in Coffs Harbour but this is a good base if you do pass through. They have cheap or free activities for guests every evening. You must go on the trip to Emerald Beach at sunset to see so many kangaroos! Very helpful and friendly staff. There is a good amount of chill out space and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean.

Nice social area and clean 

The hostel is in a very good location, very friendly staff, and it is extremely clean, the rooms are very comfortable, and you have the opportunity to make a trip with the mini van from the hostel,one in the morning and one in the evening!

Super Hostel!!

Stayed here for a night on the way to splendour in the grass, beds were fine and comfy, rooms spacious and the kitchen nice and big 
A good outdoor table area where you can hang out.
The owners/managers were super helpful with everything we needed and gave us some great recommendations for the area, lovely people!

Nice place to stay, lovely people

Stayed a few  times...bathrooms and toilets mostly clean but lots of black mould, kitchen is functional, minimal cooking space or room to move, no fridge space, no freezer space and theft of food constant. Too many homeless and I mean halfway house homeless, it's full of seasonal and long-termers living there; most and some are years living there, dope smoke wafts about, Jackie manager is great, no parking, all the amenities stated are not true. Free laundry wash was cool but the amount of long term homeless halfway house people living there smoking inside was a pain! You go to bed smelling like a 20 a day smoker. Wifi is tolerable is the main area only. Again don't expect to watch tv or a movie, long-term "backpackers" will see that that won't work. I found the true backpackers passing through very nice and very shocked at residents and smoke stench. Fire alarms ringing randomly. Pool is unused due to feral crowd sitting, staring & smoking in front of pool. No rentals of any kind. No privacy curtains on bunks. Why do backpacking facilities seem to think that everything will remain new and usable, my god there comes a time to replace stuff, hand towels may be clean but if they look like they've just cleaned an engine block...replace them!! Backpacker hostels are now a misnomer... they're fast becoming halfway houses. Jackie was the only redeeming thing about the place.

Disappointing

Terrible, terrible place. The owners are the worst people and my stay was ruined by their negative demeanor. They close the outside area really early and generally infect the place with their hostility and bad attitudes. Honestly dont stay here .

Awful

The owner of this place was so unnecessarily rude to me that I left this hostel after one nights stay even though I probably would have stayed for 5 more. I was also going to recommend to a friend coming here because they have free kayaks and cheap bikes, but I won’t be doing that because good customer service when you pay for something is obviously essential. I rented a bike and was told to return it by 10 pm by the woman working here, but when I returned it around 8 pm, the man who is the manager or owner nastily said something along the lines of “I don’t know why you are returning this now you should have returned it before it got dark”, to which I responded that that’s not what had been communicated to me. He preceded to be sassy. For future interactions, it might be better to kindly state with no aggressiveness something along the lines of “hey next time please return the bike before sunset” or EVEN BETTER inform your staff on this Information so it’s not an issue. I hope that you learn how to treat other human beings with kindness, you might find some happiness in that itself, it’s pretty simple. I’m sorry you are so miserable that you must project your misery by treating others poorly. 

Also, I’ve read feedback on others poor reviews. You seem to defend yourself instead of taking feedback. Obviously there is always room for improvement so don’t even try to say that this is odd because others have said this man is great, he’s obviously not if there are multiple complaints on these reviews :))))
