This is the place to stay for the nearby Yellow River Cruise. The pool has a sunshade which is good. The tented rooms are fine though a bit difficult to find (there's a one-way circular route). Food was good.

Perfect for the Yellow River Cruise

Wow. This was a nice surprise. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms. It was large, clean, modern and had great aircon. We had a refrigerator in the room. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room. There is one in the amenities block but we didn't use it. 
The bistro made excellent food. 

This was one of the nicest places where we have stayed in a national park. Well done.

Wonderful place

This is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are brilliant and the sites are well sized. The food was great at the Barra Bar, although expensive - but this seems to be common in the NT. The downside was the showers and toilets. They looked constantly dirty and no mops were around to clean them and the smaller shower block had clearly been made incorrectly as the water drains in the wrong direction towards the door of the shower.

Great place to stay

This is a very comfortable hotel. the room is big and well set out. the bathroom is tiny. the bed is comfy. great location, pool is good, food is good. we would stay again and recommend this as a place to set up and see the local sights.

Great location and facilities,staff all friendly and helpful.
Had a small problem in my room, the lass on reception came immediately and fixed it.
Enjoyed dinner , prompt service even though the restaurant was busy, there were enough staff to serve and hardly much wait time. Enjoyed an interesting taste plate!

Spacious rooms

There is not much choice for accommodation in Kakadu, especially if you want to go out on the Yellow River. It is the most convenient accommodation. For a family of 4, we had a room in good condition, but small as well as the bathroom. A spare bed for the 2nd child. The pool is nice. We did not like the restaurant at all, poorly organized and disappointing. The fare is generally excessive and the service is unrelated.

Average

This large complex consists of 12 blocks of four bedrooms accessible by small paved paths and also through the lawns. Large reception. Perfectly proper accommodation. Two large parking lots. A large restaurant but with tasteless food, as too often in Australia. Two pleasant swimming pools, open until 9 p.m. Large room with a cemented terrace on which there is a table and four chairs but no shade or lighting. One can ask at what time one can use it.

Comfortable rooms in the heart of Kakadu National Park

Nice clean hotel in the middle of Kakadu NP. 
The rooms are a good size and have a queen bed and a single bed. 
The bar is a nice area. We didn’t eat there but the restaurant looked nice. 
The hotel was busy the day we arrived but it was a lot quieter the next day.

Nice hotel in the middle of Kakadu

Our daughter & partner, who live in Darwin, gifted us a weekend at Cooinda Lodge for Xmas so we were delighted they joined us there on our last weekend before heading home back east.
Cooinda in the heritage-listed Kakadu National Park past Jabiru is a good 4hr from Darwin, but it’s definitely worth the drive.
The resort has cabin-style accommodation (which we had), as well as powered & unpowered sites and glamping for the less intrepid traveller. Our cabin was clean and well equipped including renovated bathroom and large-screen TV, and importantly within a few short steps of the restaurant/bar. 
Speaking of which the catering was remarkably good, with a sophisticated menu including territory exotics like kangaroo, buffalo and crocodile, and a well-stocked buffet breakfast which left very little to be desired. Well done Cooinda Lodge!
The receptionist, Micaela, who checked us in was very informative about nearby points of interest for which we were grateful when we chanced a cooling dip after the long trek to the remote but spectacular Motorcar Falls.
A croc-sighting tour* on the adjacent Yellow River Cruises capped off an amazing outback NT tour de force, notwithstanding being soaked to the core by the torrential rain that hammered down bucketloads every afternoon, right on cue.
No complaints though, it was wet season after all.
*Who knew crocs and thunderstorms don’t mix? There were hardly any crocs to be seen this day, but the swollen wetlands with its vista of watery billabongs and channels was amazing.

Cooinda Lodge is set in fantastic surroundings,especially this time of year ,when rains have been and the floodplains are just alive,green and welcoming.
What is not so welcoming is the filthy state of the concrete surroundings which is such a pity as the rooms are lovely and clean and the pool is sparkling and the grounds are well maintained.
