booked this place, but cancelled during the free cancellation period last year. Never got a refund. Been almost a year and still trying to get booking.com to give a refund. Almost impossible to find a contact number. So if you want to book this motel, make sure you dont pay upfront. Or say goodbye to your money. They also charge you more than the price listed.

We recently spent a night in Coonamble staying at the Artesian Motor Inn – an interesting experience. When booking it read well on the internet but in reality we found it to be rather run down, tired, and dirty. The area has been under duress with the current plague of mice but our rooms were dirty, the bathrooms tired and needing a good clean, the carpet appeared not to have been vacuumed for some time with grass, papers, mouse droppings and more. Parking was outside the room and the WiFi worked but was very slow. The pool looked reasonable  but we did not use it. Overall there must be better accommodation in this remote town.

They don't come much worse.

Mouse poo in the beds! And in the cupboards, shower head so clogged water hardly comes out, awful smell in the room, air con not cold enough to cool down the West facing brick wall which was so hot on the inside. Just awful, awful, awful. We felt like we were in a National Lampoon's movie, do not stay here.

Awful, overpriced, worst motel we've ever stayed in.

We stayed here for one night and the motel was all we needed.Bob who runs the motel was super friendly and even offered to drop us up at the local pub to get a meal but the publican came and got us and dropped us back home! Although on the main road it was quiet so no issues there.We would stay there again

Tradional Clean and Friendly

Best place in coonamble to stay, Bar was closed but offered a courtesy bus in return to grab a feed and drink... the room was clean and quiet with friendly service, front wall had had a make over with a mural placed on the front wall providing a welcoming entrance. Newly renovated rooms

Stayed for the rodeo weekend, never again. The rooms were a smelly. 
The linen felt old and smelt funky like it wasent washed or folded as it was creased up and hair all over it, bathroom floor and shower area had hair all over it could not see out the shower screen it was so dirty. Toilet had rust stains as well as urine smell, tried to open the window for fresh air only to find thick dust and dead bugs on the window sill gross.. filth. Needs updating and new linen BAD

Old, dirty, smelly never again

Stayed with a group. The poor state of this place was a talking point amongst all. Owner jacked the price up from his advertised rate. Four of our group left early due to the condition of the beds and bathrooms.  Spoke to some locals who only laughed telling us that the reputation of this motel was well known in the town.

Stay away. Worst motel I have ever experienced.

Basic and simple, with an electric blanket and comfy bed but no hot water to shower in the morning. 
When I let the reception know there was not hot water he asked me if I was serious. 
Not terribly impressed. 

I missed the hot water :(

I was apprehensive about this motel, having read recent unfavourable reviews. but this was the only motel with a vacancy My "Deluxe Queen" room turned out to be clean and comfortable. The bathroom appeared to have been refurbished, with neat modern fittings. (The shower is enclosed only by a wraparound curtain, so a hearty shower floods the bathroom floor). The air con, fridge and TV all worked to ensure a pleasant stay.

Better than expected from recent reviews


This is up there with one of the worst places I've stayed at. Bathroom was revolting and disgusting! Rust stains in toilet bowl. Pubic hair on floor. Dirty shower screens.SEWERAGE leaking on bathroom floor from toilet. The entire place is well run down and needs money spent on it badly. The young staff member was friendly and helpful. That's the only good thing I can say about this place.  You have been warned!
