BAD BAD BAD - Do not waste your time or money. 

We booked for Easter. Stayed 5 minutes. This is seriously the worst place ever. Room was dirty - had not been cleaned - but worse still - black mould around the basin, coffee and milk rings on the table, spa head rest was sticky taped on - worse though - evidence of previous guests night were on the bedside ! A vacuum cleaner had obviously not been used for a very long time. 

Fridge had slippery fingers marks - or was it lubricant as per the bedside?  Inside was worse !

Photos of the gardens are from previous owners time - 4 + years ago - as are any positive reviews. 

Looks like the Addams Family garden now. 

BBQ - we didn’t get too close, but that was because it was visibly filthy. 

That was what we saw in the few dismal minutes we were there - sure it would have got worse - didn’t dare check the sheets !

Lady at reception said she would speak to the cleaner - sack the cleaner would be a better option - if there actually is a cleaner ( we doubt it).

Highlight was getting out of there without catching anything. 

Only good thing was that we asked for and received our money back - but we had to drive back home as there was nothing elsewhere available. 

We have traveled to many places here and abroad - this is not a review about the age of the Cottages - that is not a problem. This is a bad review due to lack of care and consideration - as well as the sheer disappointment that it was not always the case when the other owners had it only a few short years ago.

NEVER EVER - DO NOT STAY HERE

Booked for 2 nights, stayed one night and left the next morning. Bathroom dirty, hairs in the bedroom drawers, kitchen dirty, dust everywhere in the lounge room  dead flies on the window sill. The man at reception did not speak to me at all and seemed quite put out by me checking in. Wasn't sure if he was an employee or a relative as he wasn't very professionally presented. I love the island but will never stay here again.

Spend your money elsewhere

My husband and I have just returned from a stay at cottages for two. My daughter and her husband were due to go but unfortunately he ended up in hospital. My daughter rang to see if she could change the dates of her stay. She was told that she was booked in for the Friday and that was that. Plus the day she rang we were still in lockdown so her ask should have been accommodated.
On arrival at cottages for two the garden is nothing like the accompanying photos on this site or any of the other sites that are advertising this property. The garden is just weeds. It really  is shocking as weed killer is not dear to buy.
Upon entering the office it’s like going into a dungeon. So dark and uninviting and definitely seen better days. The gentleman that checked us in wasn’t very friendly or neatly dressed. 
We were allocated unit 6. The position was good as down the bottom so away from the main road. If they thought we’d cook on the bar be cue provided they could think again. It was really dirty and full off oil. Outside appearance not at all inviting table and chairs ready for the tip. I wouldn’t have trusted the chairs. 
On entering the unit it looked clean and tidy but on further inspection found it to be quite grubby. All around the bath black mould. Unmatching  towels of very poor quality.
The bed was very firm and each of the couches had pieces of wood under the cushions. 
After our initial arrival we didn’t see the owners again and they never spoke or came to see if everything was 


Not as advertised

We booked 2 nights in a 'Superior Apartment' with spa.  Warning bells started as we pulled into the drive and saw the weeds growing up between the racks in the concrete and the paint peeling off the sign pointing to the office.   At the office, I was told we had been given cottage 7 and the keys were on the table outside the door to the cottage.  The table, had seen better decades as had the two weathered and worn seats around it.  The area smelt damp and musty.  Once inside, it was a complete disappointment and nothing like the photos on the website.  The lounge area had a strong smell and the bedroom smelt  damp.and musty.  I wish I'd taken photos.  We didn't even take our bags out of the car.  I returned the keys to the office and told the manager that there was no way we could sleep in there with that smell.  he relied that they had had a plumber in to fix it.  I didn't wait for a further explanation and left.  About 5 minutes later he sent a text offering another cottage instead.  If what we had been given was a 'Superior Apartment', there was no way I was going to opt for another, so politely declined.  I wasn't offered any form of refund and didn't ask for one.  It was my fault for not checking reviews.  We ended up staying in a new, neat, tidy and convenient apartment for $10 more than we threw away on this place.

Nothing like what was advertised

I don't even know where to begin. the pictures on the website are so outdated in regards to the garden. Everything is now overgrown and not maintained. we were told on arrival that we didn't have a washing machine or a dryer in our room even though that's what we agreed on.  We were in number 7, which in the hallway is a door that remains locked but leads into an area which staff use throughout the day. we could hear majority of what was going on so dint feel privet to us. our bathroom had not been cleaned properly with the glass you put your toothbrush in all filthy at the bottom. the cupboard underneath was all moldy. stains on the floor. as well as out fridge was being held up by a door stop and had no side holders where u would place you milk etc. as they were broken. the shower was dirty my partner even wore thongs in the shower cause we were that worried. The wine glasses they provided next to the spa has a crack in the bottom of it. my side table next to the bed leant as soon as you put anything so little as a phone on it. oh and the carpet has snail trails on them. we were meant to stay for three nights built left after two. when going to the manager to bring this to his attention he didn't seem to care that we were leaving didn't care to ask why after we said we were unhappy with the stay and not what we wanted.

Highly Disappointed, will never go back. Please don't waste your money like we did

Not what we was expecting for paying $155 .Soon as we arrived my wife had to ask to have the cigarettes and butts in the  to be remove from the entrance of our room. Rooms looked dated and then there is message that the use of using the spa bath would be charged a extra $30 then another note that we be charged another $30 for using the gas heater. Then we looked inside the dishwasher and stove and it is unhygienic for use. The staff that greeted us was unprofessional grooming and attire.

Overpriced. Looks nothing like the photos on website.

No 6 has all the facilities and amenities you need for a quiet and comfortable stay. A kitchen when you want to eat at home and the cafes within walking distance when it is time to eat out ! The unit has a comfy lounge with great heating for winter and ac and fans for summer. The bed is comfy and the bathroom amazing. Even a European laundry for extended stays. Easy access to the main street and esplanade. This place is the complete package in a Cottage for two.

Perfect for just the two of you !

Cottages is in a Very quiet Location and Very well appointed. We loved the fact that Coles Supermarket, Restaurants, Takeaway's is all within walking distance. 10 min walk to the Esplanade and some really Great places to Eat. A special note here if you want to use the spa it will cost Extra depending on your deal negotiated.
All round very nice Comfortable place to stay.

Cottages for two

Upon arrival I was disappointed. The outside pictures aren’t true. We arrived expecting a cute little cottage & found a line of one bedroom units & definitely no gardens as shown on the pictures. The pictures were taken with type of lens used for house advertising as the patio are was tiny, not large & pretty as shown on the advertising.
It was clean but attention to detail was missed. Dirty sink holes, the doona cover had seen better days.
The sofas were like rocks. 
The instructions for the DVD//TV remote were for a different remote & we couldn’t work it out.
The positives were the location, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom large & parking next to the unit.

Don’t be fooled by the outside pictures 

We just had a much deserved night away and were so disappointed to find Cottages For Two were nothing like as advertised! 
Firstly there are no lovely gardens just tan bark & concrete surrounding them. Also in an industrial area! 
We opened the front door to our cabin and were nearly knocked out from the terrible cooking smell. 
We then spent ages trying to light the gas heater, so I then went to ask for help where I struggled trying to explain to the guy at the front desk as he didn't speak english or even understand what I was trying to say! I don't understand why you would have someone in charge who cannot communicate with people! 
So he then came back to the cottage with me and eventually said no gas or spa $30 extra!!! What a rip off!  I told him about the smell, so he went into bathroom &  bought out a can of  air freshner! Are you joking??? 
The bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab, so uncomfortable! 
Just please know you are not getting what you think here! We will never stay there again!
