Whenever I ski NSW I always stay with these guys. Arnie and Luke are always so friendly, the accomodation and meals are great, and the location perfect for getting to the ski tube each day or simply ducking into Jindabyne. It’s always a welcoming environment, and the communal wood fire is always fun to gather around at night with a few reds. Highly recommend!!

Absolute gem!

We had the most wonderful time at the Habitat! The dinner was delicious and the fireplace so warm and inviting. The outlook on the property is stunning with the Snowy Mountains in the background. The wildlife surrounded the property (kangaroos everywhere!) it was so fun for the kids! Each cute, little cabin was separate and private with all the necessary basics for a great stay. 
The BEST thing about the place was the staff and the owner Arnie! She was so accommodating and friendly and provided a really memorable stay for our little family of 4. We will be back! 
Five minute drive from the Wild Brumby distillery was a bonus! 

Amazing experience

Beautiful location up the road from Wild Brumby distillery. Room was clean and warm upon arrival. Newly renovated bathroom with hot showers and mini-bar fridge for the beers! Friendly staff and great food cooked by Luke - even when we forgot to prebook dinner and the kitchen closing he made sure we didn't go hungry. Great stay.

Great place to stay

Great place to stay nice  clean and comfortable, the management was very helpful and accomodating to all our needs. Would definitely stay there again. The walking track was nice and the views were worth the walk. I would like to see the place in winter.

A peaceful hide away not far off the beaten track! Easy access, good service, acceptable accommodation. It was a pleasant surprise to find this place only minutes off the highway but felt like miles away.

A Pleasant Surprise

The basics of this place are good - peaceful bush setting, warm beds, hot showers. We were left to wonder though at the off-season standards. 
We were the only guests present for 2 of our 3 night stay and we never saw the hosts. The chalet was more "youth hostel" than "guest", with mismatched linen, broken rails for the top bunks, patched walls, and bad ventilation in the bathroom. 
The communal building (dining and lounge rooms) had dirty crockery and glasses sitting for 2 days on one table, and other dirty plates in a cupboard that smelt terrible. There were NO BINS anywhere on the property except a small one in the bathroom & the main ones at the front gate, which made things difficult when using the disposable plates and cutlery provided for continental breakfast.The children's play space in the loft looked like it had been ransacked - mess EVERYWHERE. And there was no heating operating in the evening - the open fire was out of service presumably until winter, and we could not start the gas heater. Thankfully blankets sufficed for movie watching in the evening, but would not have been enough if it was colder. The bush rat that scooted upstairs each evening was almost funny, and the 'BBQ facilities' consisted of a pit which we needed to collect wood for, and a massive solid iron plate that that required two strong men to lift and precariously balance on the rails provided.

This place may be much better kept up and serviced in the winter season, and maybe it is ageing badly. We are budget travellers but there were still standards lacking.
