My husband and I stayed in the Cherrytree Cottage for two nights, immediately after our wedding. It was the perfect spot! Melissa, the owner, was so incredibly easy to deal with and her attention to detail was spot on. We walked into the cottage to classical music playing, and the heater on a perfect temperature. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and everything you would expect for a hidden getaway in the Adelaide Hills! Location is perfect - close to several hotels and tourist attractions.

Romantic getaway

We stayed here for 3 nights. The Stirling house was perfect. Well maintained and very comfortable. The fire was perfect and it was so easy to get around. A short walk to town, and plenty of great eating places close by. Breakfast provisions were a welcome surprise, and the house is well equiped. Would definately stay here again, as it was a really lovely vacation. And a beautiful cottage

Excellent Stay

My family and I enjoyed a lovely stay at with Crafers Cottages - at their Stirling House property.  The House was very easy to find and the instructions to get the key were a breeze. The House was lovely with cosy lounge, great little kitchen, 3 well appointed bedrooms (we only used two) and a nice bathroom. It was very cold when we stayed but the fire soon made sure that we were all warm.

The continental breakfast provisions were a nice touch. The House is a little way from Stirling but we had a no issues as we had a car.

We I return to the Adelaide Hills I will certainly stay at Stirling House - an absolute gem.

Gem - great place to stay

The only bad stay in our 6 weeks of traveling!
We were not shown pictures of The Stirling house when booking. There are 3 different locations, Stetling house is not shown. The night we places are shown.
There is much repair to be done in this old house!
The front door is rotting, the back door leaks terribly when it rains, water comes right inside. Had to use bath towels to contain the water flow.
There was black mold growing in a couple places near the ceiling joints in the living room, dining room and kitchen
The carpet is worn and dirty. The hangers in the armoires were from a dry cleaners, metal wire hangers! 
The photos here make it look charming, it could be if the repairs necessary get done.
Way over priced for the accommodation provided.
The bathroom and toilet rooms are the only rooms that have been worked on,updated. The towels were so rough, we had to rinse them twice , yes twice, to get the soap out so we could dry them & use them. Beds were ok, pilliws ok.
We were told there was WiFi- there was NOT.
We  do not stay where there is not WiFi.
I especially like to have it to keep up on my TA reviews. We use it to make plans, dinner reservations and for directions. None could be done!
We CANNOT recommend The Stirling House!
At first glance it looks cute, take a closer look and see the real lack of condition it is in.
The kitchen looks inviting with tea, coffee, cereal, honey and Vegemite, milk, bread & butter, washer and dryer.
We questioned the owner, she did not have much to say other than it's old and WiFi was too hard to get for that location. Failed to mention it when we booked b/c the other places they rent do have it.
Poorly handled, represented and poor condition.
Save your money, don't stay here.


Disappointed, Misrepresented, No WiFi

Sadly our summer holiday was disappointing due to accommodation in poor condition. The communication from the host was rude and there were privacy issues with the hosts family wandering through the grounds at various times. I suggest avoiding the Crafers cottages if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Dirty and overpriced

The cottage in Stirling is worn out. The house requires maintenance and a good cleaning. The pictures are deceiving and we were very disappointed when we arrived. I would not recommend staying at the cottage in Stirling.
