The room was definitely value for money, very clean, great hospitality and close to everything. For the price we were very happy, we had a 2 bedroom unit and it catered for our needs. The greeting on arrival was pleasant and easy checkout.

Definelty value for money

We stayed in the budget double room. Very happy with the accommodation for the price we paid. Room was clean with a large and comfortable bed. Bathroom was spotless. Room included heating, A/C, kettle, tv and hairdryer. We also had access to a shared kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, toaster, free tea and coffee. 

Great value for money

We booked the Entire house for a Saturday night out in Central Vic.
6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, multi TV's, individual heaters, full kitchen, Laundry, Bar with full facilities, plenty parking , Wi-Fi & a pleasant Host/ Manager.
 
Made life very easy indeed for our large group to stay together.
It is also very convenient to both Daylesford & Hepburn springs.

Some detail cleaning is required and some noise could be heard from other guests in Hotel rooms adjoining upstairs, but otherwise it was perfect for our stay.

Bonus of the included Aussie themed Mini golf.

The cheapest place in Daylesford at the time of booking, and a nice place! As most reviewers mentioned already, the mini golf course is something out of the ordinary...not in top condition, but huge! The room was great, no complaints apart from possibly (as already been mentioned here) that the double beds consist of two singles. Otherwise there is a kitchenette, good bathroom and plenty of room. Clean and comfy a very short drive or reasonable walk from the town centre.

Very good value

3-4 stars; rooms are clean, comfortable beds, clean bathroom, good heating in rooms as well; the lounge and kitchen area are smaller than presented in pictures; kitchen is basic and could be maintained better (better utensils, pans etc) but we were only there 1 night so it was ok; the reception staff were friendly, had a good range of dvds and books. Mini golf on-site although statues a bit eerie! Close to main part of town, nice view; lots of TV channels didn't work

Good view, clean, comfortable

We stayed here for one night and we are quite unsettled and restless the day after. 

-only one coffee pod with no herbal tea considering we are in Daylesford 
-mattress stained brown and droops to the floor
-weird blood spatter design on wardrobe
-cardboard pillows 
-chucky the doll features in the most desolate /eerie mini golf course in Australia 
-the whole apartment sways at nighttime and we heard knocking all night
-Shazza needs a good wash as featured 

Creepy & uncomfortable

We booked accomodation here early 2020, for 2 nights, had to pay upfront, Covid hit and went into lockdown, lost our entire money never to receive back while down the road friends were going to stay elsewhere received  every penny back.

Extremely angry

A place to avoid if you want customer service and a relaxing time away!
After years of dreaming of a weekend away from work, family and chores, my friend and I finally booked one. The reward was an unpleasant stay at the AVALA. 
With no advertisement on the booking side of a 2.5% surcharge for Credit card payments we were surprised by a higher number typed into the card reader when attempting to pay on arrival.  We then got pointed to a piece of paper stating the surcharge. I refused to pay extra and told the manager that I will do a quick bank transfer to pay differently. His comment to that - while he was impatiently standing next to me was - "You are rich, you can pay this, this is nothing, it's only $7". Politely I answered that I am not willing to pay extra and that I believe it should not be a problem for him at all. 
After entering the room, we quickly realized, that the cleaning hasn't been done properly. The floors were sticky in every room, the kitchenette was not clean and the bathroom must have had only a quick visit from a cleaner. We went back to the reception and asked the manager politely to clean at least the floors while we will go into town. After coming back, the floor had been cleaned but nothing else was done. We wisely had bought some cleaning products and spend 1 hour cleaning ourselves to make us feel comfortable. While cleaning  the bathroom, we found nail clippings and after wiping the toilet ourselves, we were disgusted by the filth we had captured in our wipes. The beds had stained blankets and greasy decorative pillows on top of not washed Donnas. Sleeping pillows and sheets seamed to be fresh. Both bedside lamps didn't work and there was nothing in one of the rooms to store anything except 3 hooks on the wall. 
The promised kitchenette wasn’t inviting to cook anything in and made us stay away from it as much as possible. The unwelcoming small amount of complementary coffee and tea bags, which were advertised with pride by the place, as well as not enough plates and kitchen utilities, made our decision for outside breakfast a no brainer. 
At around midnight just getting ready for bed, our smoke alarm turned on a few times for a short period for no reason. We went to bed and thought of it as a one off after it went quiet again. Sadly it repeated it's annoying beeping throughout the night with every hour with different length of ear soaring noise. By 5am we were so tired and exhausted from all the alarm noise that we started to search for the manager. He was busy "fixing" other guests alarms and explained that some sentenced candlesticks triggered the alarm in someone’s room! 
He did not make any attempt to offer us any help. We stayed up and somehow survived another 2 hours -by now- almost constant, unbearable noise. Only a few rooms were affected by it. By 7am we escaped the place to find breakfast and some peace. The sleepless night made it impossible for us to follow up on our plans for the day, as we were too tired and exhausted. As the manager told us he had called for help, which should arrive in the morning, we tried to stay away for the whole morning and into the early afternoon. As we came back, we started a friendly chat with him, checking if everything has been fixed. When we asked if there was anything he could do to reimburse us in any way for our sleepless night, he told us with lots of laughter, that we are rich enough and this shouldn’t be an issue for us. He told us, we are driving a nice car and can afford a holiday away and that with a car like that (my friends 12 year old Mitsubishi), we have lots of money and therefor shouldn't complain. He also said, that he is not the owner and he cannot do anything about it. All he could do is offer us 50% off with our next stay. I told him that there will be no next time and that I would like him to contact the owner and ask for a solution. He laughs at us again and made us feel very foolish and uncomfortable. We felt offended and had to leave his sight before getting into an argument, which would have ruined more off our weekend. The manager did not come up to us for any apologies or reparation solution for our sleepless night and did not even bother apologizing. 
The AVALA is run without any care or desire to engage with its customers or making them feel welcome. It has no information material about the area or any activities and the Wi-Fi details can only be excessed by taking a photograph at reception. The language barrier by the manager on top makes it awkward and an unpleasant place.
I have never ever felt so upset over how we’ve been treated. Coming from a background in customer service I am in disbelieve. This person should not be allowed to run a business servicing paying customers.

Don't be a fool - don't waist your hard earned money here!

Booked into Avala Resort for a weekend getaway for my wife’s birthday. We had with us our two year old boy, so I booked a suite with two bedrooms. $250 a night. Well how disappointing. Unit is tiny and in desperate need of an overhaul. Grounds are disgusting. Not maintained. Mini golf course has had no maintenance since it was built and in need of major overhaul. Sofa was broken as were the wine glasses. Balcony fence is rotted and will result in a serious accident in the near future. Curtain cords not fixed to wall so 2 year old nearly hung himself.  This is illegal!

Hot water has no pressure and they refuse to service room. Furniture old and in poor condition. All decks need staining and sanding.  Whole place needs a repair inside and out. Cheap and nasty hair dryer that wouldn’t blow the top of a rice pudding. Bedding old and worn as were the beds.  Traffic noise is overwhelming in the front units.

All in all a tired, badly maintained resort charging the maximums fees. Also, breakfast not included.

Extremely disappointed 

I booked a night here .. then ended up doing some volunteer work related to the massive fires here at the moment. Requested to change my booking and was denied .. heartless .. I hope the fires don’t come your way and you you expect people to help you 🤷🏻‍♀️
