A small plane flew in 45 minutes from Kern to north Queensland for 5 days to this amazing boutique lodge, recognised by Forbes magazine as the world's best-kept-in lodge. It's just a tropical paradise of 17 rooms!

best remote lodge in the world

Fantastic location,accommodation and staff. Stunning location reached by light aircraft, bus and boat.. Hideaway room was spotless with ocean view. Ben, Courtney and other staff ensured that  our holiday was as we wished. Food cooked by Russ was amazing. We spent our coral wedding anniversary snorkelling on the reef - out of this world!! 
The property is now up for sale and hopefully the new owner will continue to allow others to enjoy this paradise.

Perfection

Part of our Honeymoon around the world trip. 
Bloomfield was just exceptional. Our room, the food, the staff and the wildlife just made it unforgettable. 
The rainforest tour was full of surprises. The Big Mamma trip left us feeling totally exhausted by being so excited! Remember a very good sun cream for your face......one of the girls at the lodge had to cover my face with fresh aloe vera!!

Stunning!

This is a great lodge.  Stayed with my family which included kids.  The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay the best that it can be. It is remote and subsequently very relaxing.  This is not the place for someone who wants exciting night life or lots of planned activities.  Rather if you like nature, want to relax then this is great. There are many things to do but they all require being outside. 
Our room was excellent and had the best views. Food was excellent, they asked about special requests and the variety was superb.  Overall a highlight in our 4 week stay in australia.

Would love to go back

I really don't know where to start as my words will not do justice to what my partner and I have enjoyed over the last five days.

The experience began by being collected from our hotel in Cairns, a wonderful flight in a CESSNA, followed by a short road journey and a boat ride across Weary Bay. We then arrived in paradise.

We were met by Courteney, one of the Lodge's co-managers, who explained how the Lodge worked.

Breakfasts, set lunch and dinners were all included, and all were of extremely  high standard, created by resident chef, Russell. My partner cannot eat seafood, and an alternative was always made available. An honesty bar system is in process.

Our four night stay allowed a complimentary rainforest walk and crocodile spotting river cruise. In addition we enjoyed a tour to Bloomfield Falls and Cedar Bay National Park. All tours were led by Ben, who was extremely knowledgeable and a joy to listen to.

The accommodation was very comfortable and our room, 19, had glorious views over Weary Bay.

We would love to return but the Lodge is currently for sale and the future uncertain. All of the staff gave us a holiday of a lifetime and we sincerely hope they are able to continue their outstanding hospitality. 

Bloomfield Lodge is too much of a treasure to sacrifice for other generations to enjoy.

Out of this World

I get why this place gets great marks - but it's not as good as you would hope. It's run down and frankly a mess. Staff seek uncaring and place is remote - you are basically trapped on the property. Rooms dated and need repair - food portions small and not worth the money - avoid . 

Nope - not happy 

Our six-week trip to Australia could not have begun better. We were treated kindly and carefully throughout the five days of our stay. The excursions were highly organized, with the Great Barrier Reef tour to Hope Island being exceptionally beautiful. Snoring in an untouched underwater world and deep-sea fish included! Recommendation: Get on the list of people interested in this tour early enough (before the trip starts) to save costs.

Pure nature

We were picked up on time by a very nice chauffeur at the hotel and taken to the airport, where we were very kindly received. After a short wait, we were able to board the plane and set off for Cape Tribulation. There we landed on a small grass landing strip and were taken by car to the boat yard. Then we went by boat to the lodge. This journey was an experience. When we arrived at the lodge, we were greeted warmly by Courtney, the lodge manager (with a welcome drink of course), and afterwards we were able to go to our Rainforest Room (near the pool) where we had already been staying for a very long day.

It's just fantastic!

The journey to the Bloomfield Lodge alone is adventurous. First you start with a small plane and land in the middle of nature. Then you go on by car (about 15 minutes) then you take the boat to the lodge that lies by the water in the forest. You are greeted with joy, get to know the other hotel guests of the lodge immediately and can enjoy the excellent food. The view from the room to the sea is fantastic and the rooms to and from themselves are also beautiful, modern and realistically great. The food was heavenly every day and we ate together the other people. We also took a trip to the jungle once with a guide who really knew about everything. We could also watch turtles at the turtle spot, play in the pool and swim in the sea without having to go for a tour of the sea!

It's wonderful.

We stayed three nights in Bloomfield as part of a four-week trip to Australia. Despite an average time the plane trip was very nice. The reception at the airport and then the transfer on a strange wheelbarrow (which actually serve to arrive at the beach of the hotel pulled by a tractor) were very professional and pleasant especially thanks to the very competent guide. The hotel is luxurious but without ostentation, the well-located rooms and the excellent table. The atmosphere is particularly warm with the diners. If you do not plan to go on the coral reef, three nights are enough. Finally, the management, very competent otherwise, should relax a little without having to see it very well because it does not need to make a very nice impression.
