Called in for Sunday lunch and chose 2 of the specials that far exceeded being called a special: steak sandwich and roast of the day. The steak sandwich had 2 eggs, beetoot, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, lettuce and a lovely sauce while the roast beef was tender, the veges were perfectly cooked and there was lots of of it. Both were served quickly, perfectly and more than filling. A couple of musicians were setting up though we missed them. This was a great place to call by on a Sunday and certainly a place we will be calling into again.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch

What an awesome surprise. I had 4 nights on the East Coast, St Mary's Hotel was clearly the best for variety, value and taste. I had a pick bowl an amazing mixture, yummy mixture of meats prawns veges and salad and cheese. My colleague had a Parmie with a seafood topping. Both huge meals at very reasonable prices.

Brilliant Bistro

My husband and I enjoyed a nice pub lunch yesterday at this hotel.
Plenty of choice for wines and beer.
Lovely warm fireplace, welcoming staff and very hospitable service.

Nice food & great service

Stayed for one night in a double room with shared bathroom. While we walked by many vacant carpeted rooms, we were given the only room we could see with exposed wooden floorboards. The boards were uneven and creaking, and we nearly tripped on them several times. There was no heater and the electric blanket the manager indicated for us to use was not working.  Thankfully, the normal blanket was warm enough at the time of year we were staying.

Bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained. There was a common room with tea and coffee, as well as self-served complimentary continental breakfast downstairs.


Run down motel

Well, what a pub. Tony and Bronwyn are absolute joy. Spent hours playing pool, darts and cards, and then  ate the most delicious meal with excellent service. Also very reasonable prices. Couldn't recommend this pub enough. Thank you so so much!!

What a pub?!

My wife and I took a slight detour on our east coast road trip to stay at this hotel and bistro/pub for a night in January 2021.

At a cost of $90 a night the accomodation was at least 50 dollars cheaper than its competitors on the east coast.

The room was clean and large with a shared bathroom. As you can expect it wasn't particularly fancy but neither of us minded. There were about a dozen rooms along the upper floor of the pub with a shared ladies and gents bathroom. Linen was provided

There was plenty of parks available on the Main Street.

The staff were super friendly, as often is the case in these smaller towns.

We had dinner and drinks downstairs. Value once again was fantastic. Taste superb. Full of friendly locals.

Overall we had a lovely stay and didn't regret making the detour to St Mary's.

Good Value accommodation and food

My mate & I stayed as a cheap option on the way to the East Coast attractions. The rooms & facilities are spotless, nothing fancy, but cute. The 111 yo pub has some beautiful heritage features such as the verandahs you can access & stained glass windows. 

The pub meals were spot on & all the staff were so friendly & helpful. The delightful proprietors had a drink with us later in the evening after our evening stroll through a spotless town. St.Mary’s is a bit of a hidden gem featuring great antiques & old wares, cafes & lots of very old houses & trees 

Gorgeous country pub

Peter at Addlestone House b&b recommended the pub for dinner.  Had a couple of pre-dinner drinks, including a Guiness on tap (and Tony knows how to pour one - which some pubs around don't).  Very friendly.  Had a great meal - asked for some reef to asccompany the salamon and whow - 8 prawns turned up!  I had a great surg and turf.  The chef is terrific.  Everyone very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for dinner in Feb 2020

We came to this town for a wedding & chose to stay here for convenience & so glad we did. We were a family of 4 & had other family & guests of the wedding staying here too. The pub was just as old style as I’d imagined. The rooms were quite clean & comfortable enough & very affordable, shared bathrooms were clean, all linen supplied & the food in the bistro was SO good 👍

Hats off to Bronwyn and Tony at the St Mary’s Hotel. Their focus on both their business and guests is commendable. 

Staying only one night in a double room, we were treated to memorable experience of conversation, dining and accomodation. 

The pub is well looked after, has 15 bedrooms, a well stocked bar, live music and much more. 

The bathroom facilities are shared, both for male and female. 

We’ll return.
