The best farm holiday ever!
Bring the family, bring the children of any age! There’s something for everyone. Even though it was the middle of winter and it was snowing outside we still had a fantastic time.
The Duckmaloi Farm has two cottages available. Each has sweeping views across the valley. Try and book the Wombat cottage as it is close to the communal shed and the path leading down to the farm. In the communal shed you can cook meals and play indoor games. 
At the farm which is a short walk from the shed you can pet and feed goats, sheep, llama, deer, guinea pigs, chooks, geese ducks and pheasants. The animals are well-looked after and friendly and love to be fed with the carrots/seeds that are provided.
The highlight are the kangaroos which feed close to the cottage at dusk – hundreds of them!.
Even though it was close to zero outside with snowflakes tumbling down, the cottage was warm. There’s a sizable living area, two rooms with heated blankets and heaters. The fireplace keeps the area warm and plenty of wood is provided.

The best farm holiday ever!

We spent a couple of days in serenity itself. The Duckmaloi Farm has two cottages perched on the top of the hill with sweeping views of the valley below. An absolute delight.
Try and book the first cottage (Wombat Cottage) as it is nearer the communal shed. Here you can cook meals on a modern BBQ and also play a range of indoor games. You can go and pet and feed the various farm animals which includes goats, sheep, llama, deer, guinea pigs, chooks, geese ducks and pheasants. There’s plenty of bird life and hundreds of kangaroos which come right up to the cottage at nightfall.
The animals are well-looked after and friendly and loved to be fed by carrots/seeds provided.
The cottage was cosy and comfortable with a living area, two rooms with heated blankets and a jacuzzi bath. There’s a fireplace with plenty of wood provided.

A great farm holiday for both the adults and the children

We stayed at Duckmaloi Farm Wombat Cottage for two nights last week. The farm stay was the most anticipated part of our trip. We were very satisfied with the stay and were sad to leave when it was time to go.

The owner, Stephen, came by to welcome us as we were settling in. We  also met Susie and Percy when feeding the animals. Peter, our booking manager, was very responsive to our queries. They all made us feel very welcome. The animals (deer, alpacas, goats, donkeys, horses, guinea pigs, birds) are well-looked after and friendly. We had ample carrots/seeds to feed the farm animals and my kid enjoyed himself immensely.

The cottage was cosy and comfortable. Cosy living area, two rooms with heated beds (in case one finds it cold), and a jacuzzi bath. Very well stocked pantry. The owners even provided fresh eggs from the farm for us.

The air at Duckmaloi Farm was fresh and we looked out at the rolling hills of Oberon from the living area. We watched sheep, horses and wallabies graze and we were thrilled to observe a mother wallaby and three little ones close-up. 

Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves are easily accessible from Duckmaloi Farm.

An unforgettable experience. We would love to visit again.

Best part of family trip

Family with young children, and friends also with young children stayed with our own cottages each. Cottages were clean, tidy, cosy, extra touches like fresh farm eggs in fridge, mini butters, and a basket filled with goodies like chocolates, cookies, cereal, muesli bars and variety of mini spreads.
The shed was a great spot for cooking bbq and watching the footy while kids were warm and had room to run around.
Animals very friendly, well looked after and plenty of feed to give to them and really enjoy the farm experience. Looking out our window amazing view and wild wombats and kangaroos everywhere.

Couldn’t recommend enough, we are already looking at when we can go back.

The PERFECT family getaway

We stayed in the wombat cottage both times. Its neat and clean perched on the edge of a hill overlooking a valley teaming with kangaroos in the evening and early morning.

Nothing exciting to do there, and that's part of the charm. Making fires in the cottage, the communal shed or outside is as exciting as it gets. Feeding the animals is great for the kids, and that's why we come. 

The cottage could work as a romantic get away, provided there isn't a family in the other cabin close by.

For a family with kids looking for a weekend getaway from Sydney its perfect.


We've been twice, and loved it both times

Stayed here while holidaying in the Blue Mountains for two nights with my wife. Our farm stay cottage was a quiet, comfy and situated overlooking rolling hills and countryside views. The nearby farm animals are amusing. Accompanying features like an amusement shed with BBQ add to the already abundant convenient amenities supplied in the cottage accommodation. Oberon is only a 15 minute drive away and Jenolan caves not far also. It was great to be able to sit by the fire and watch the world go by from the comfort of a lounge chair. Had to get up early though of a morning as the bedroom curtains are almost see-through.

Comfy country stay

Duckmaloi Farm provides good accommodation for a family of five with all modern facilities.  The comfortable cabin style villas have views over the local hills.  There is also a "shed" close to the two cabins where you can cook meals on a modern BBQ and play a range of indoor games.  The farm offers "animal feeding and patting" experiences for children with goats, sheep, llama, deer, guinea pigs plus there is a bird aviary with chooks, geese ducks and pheasants. There are also many kangaroos that come right up to the cabins, plus native birdlife including kookaburras. A great place for a relaxng weekend.  Nearby the town of Oberon offers a range of dining options plus supermarkets and tourist activities.

Good accommodation, native wildlife, birds and farm animals for the kids

Duckmaloi Farm has 2 x 2 bedroom cottages (wombat and wallaby). We stayed in wombat. Nice layout with a wood heater, spa in the bathroom, kitchenette, modest lounge/dining area and a balcony. The cottage faces west, the sunsets are spectacular! In addition to the cottages there is a communal ‘shed’ which contains a BBQ, TV, dart board, extra ‘fridges, a large dining table (easily seats 8), and a wood heater.

The farm animals include goats, ponies, a deer, chooks, peacocks and peahens, turkeys, donkeys, guinea pigs, rabbit, ducks, sheep, a lamb, Alpacas. Plenty of feed is supplied and our 4 yr old had a great time. Wallabies and wombats about in the adjacent paddock.

Our cottage was well maintained, very clean and well supplied with linen, blankets etc. It has the patina of use but this did not detract from the experience in any way.

We met the owners Stephen and Susan. Lovely people.

We will be back.
