Very cosy, comfortable and tastefully presented B&B. Old style home, with tall ceilings, very comfortable bedding and modern, clean bathrooms. Delightful country breakfast served. Owner Operator Carol is very welcoming and friendly. We only stayed 1 night, but will definitely return for a longer stay next trip.

Outstanding  Cottage B&B

We hired the whole place for our group which was excellent value. Beds were comfy and the linen were good quality. We opted for just the room as we wanted to spread our dollars around in the country - it is walking distance to the main street.  We can thoroughly recommend.

A real find

Need to be out of our home during renovations and chose to stay at Curlew, perfect choice. Beautifully restored home that is charming, clean and comfortable. Carol was there to greet us and ensure we had all we needed for our stay. Parking available off the street, beautiful garden to wander in and take time to smell the roses. Everything you needed in the kitchen and more that you would normally get in a B&B so was easy to prep meals for ourselves.

All and more than expected

Curlew Cottage reminded me of a tiny boutique European hotel. The tastefully refurbished old home was spotlessly clean and had a lovely aroma.
We enjoyed the super-easy communication with Carol, who provides her guests with personal privacy and yet is on hand for any need.
The Blackbird Room was spacious, with an ensuite, and nicely furnished including a vintage wardrobe and modern tv.
With a chocolate beside our pillows and a bathroom cabinet replete with large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser and moisturiser (big eco-friendly tick there!), and other little body treatment items and facewasher as well as the usual towels, not to mention two big fluffy dressing gowns, what more could you want! 
Am I giving it all away? Maybe I should leave some lovely suprises for you: so you will have to go yourself to the comfortable living room, with magazines and books and something special on top of the sideboard (which conceals a small bar fridge with milk for your any-hour hot beverage, of which there is a selection too numerous to recount)
Gourmet breakfast was delicious, with lots of options (I traveled with a fussy eater (yes!) he was most satisfied). A check on our dietary needs had been made before we arrived. A pod-style coffee machine made me a good coffee.
All up, a lovely stay, Thank you Carol!

Charming Boutique Accomodation

Having never stayed in Dungog and needing accommodation for a wedding I had the choice of the local hotel, the local motel and Curlew Cottage. I am glad I chose Curlew Cottage. The room was lovely and cosy and was very warm which was great in the middle of winter returning from an outdoor wedding. We advised that we wanted our breakfast at 9am and Carol, our host, did not disappoint. One of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had with fresh squeezed orange juice and fruit, bacon with a magnificent cheese omelette that had no meat but still satisfied this carnivore (my wife is trying to analyse so she can make it herself) and delicious sour dough. All this in the morning sun with the delightful company of one of the locals, it was lovely to meet you too Rhonda.

A+ Hospitality in a quaint country setting

Curlew Cottage is beautiful. Carol was the perfect hostess, meeting us on arrival on Saturday and ensuring we had all we needed. The room was clean, warm (we were there on a cold winter weekend), and the bed was so cozy and comfortable. On Sunday morning we were greeted by Carol in the dining room, where she had made a great breakfast spread of tea, juice, toast, fruit and them made us a fresh tasty and healthy cooked breakfast. She has nailed what it is to be a good bed and breakfast. We would stay there again.

Comfortable and Cozy

Very nice B&B, not far from Dungog main street. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast were really nice (home-cooked) and served on the veranda. The host is really nice and knowledgeable. We had a great stay
