Excellent location, lovely hosts and superb room with balcony - a total chilling stay walking distance to a beautiful, safe beach and close to a golf course where one evening we counted 60 (yes 60!) large, small, old and young kangaroos feeding. Very near to other locations worth visiting- ask Serge for advice. Many, many thanks and when next we come back to W.Aus, we will be booking once we have confirmed dates.

5 star in every aspect

Lanterns retreat is lovely! Located near the town centre of Dunsborough, and within walking distance to the beach.
 We stayed 2 nights in a beautiful spacious room at the lodge. Comfy bed, bar fridge, wifi and a spacious bathroom with a bath. Very clean! Serge is a great guy, and has created a very welcoming vibe.

Relaxing getaway in character style lodge.

The Lanterns Retreat is like a home away from home. Room was very comfortable and the welcome package in the fridge was gratefully received. Communication was very easy and access to property a breeze. I could not fault the property at all.  Stay here when you go to Dunsborough!

Great place in Dunsborough

We were very happy with our stay there, we will certainly stay again when we are in that area, very comfortable Bed, lovely outlook from our room. walking distance from the shops, plenty of nice places to eat. Also very nice forest walks near by if you like to go for walk.

Nice experience

We loved our stay! Lanterns Retreat is very conveniently located in Dunsborough, half way between Dunsborough and Old Dunsborough in a quiet spot. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the aircon and pool were appreciated over a hot weekend. Will definitely visit again.

Sumptuous Lanterns Retreat.

We stayed at lanterns in the Opulent King suite. We felt very spoilt to be in such a beautiful large suite in this elegant old house. We were a few minutes walk to the beach for early morning swim and to the town for drinks and dinner at night. Thank you Serge. It was a privilege and a joy to stay at your place.

Lanterns is like staying in a period drama house. Think 'my family & other animals' or another eccentric 1930's drama.

We had a lovely stay here, the rooms were large and comfortable and quiet. Nice outlook to the garden. We really enjoyed the spa bath after a long days walking. Everything we needed was provided, including a fridge, wine glasses and plates and microwave.

Beautiful property, large rooms.

Dunsbourgh was a bit of a last minute stop off for us.
Unfortunately we were only able to book one night at Lanterns Retreat, we would have loved to have stayed longer.
The hotel was one of the best we have stayed in while visiting Australia.
Serge was the perfect host, he was friendly and made us feel really welcome.
The hotel was lovely, the room was clean and really comfortable, and had everything we needed.
I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely peaceful setting, elegant spacious rooms and a warm welcome from Serge. We were delighted with our last minute booking. Beautifully renovated colonial style property, pleasant lounge area, would definitely stay here again

Garden retreat

Beautiful location and grounds. Quiet, clean, friendly and a wonderful personal experience. Great location, walking distance to beach, town centre and all amenities. Recommend highly for work or personal travel, either long or short stay. Thanks for an awesome stay!
