We camp every year at Durras Lake North Holiday Park - missed out last year so this year was extra special.

Peaceful, beautiful, quiet and family friendly. Love the ability to go fishing, prawning, bushwalking, and being carried along the water channels out to the sea when the lake is open. All the kids had a wonderful time and especially loved the evening movie on the outdoor big screen set up by the lovely owners Andrew and Julie. 

Love the small cafe and shop - icecreams and great coffee and a few necessities in case you run out. Enjoy having a fireplace for each site. 
The abundance of wildlife keeps things interesting - Plenty of kangaroos and the odd goanna, beautiful birds and this year we stumbled across a bandicoot family after dark as well.

Tips: Take extra money for coins for shower and firewood. Also need heavy duty pegs and decent peg hammer as the ground is quite hard in some of the sites - our regular pegs didn't cut it this time. Also a tarp over tents is a huge help if you are in an exposed site to help with heat and rain.

Durras North - Best way to relax and unwind

Stayed in one of the cabins for a bit over a week, cabin was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Owners very friendly and accomodating and serve a great coffee. We were biking, surfing and SUPing this a perfect spot for all of them, but also lovely place to just chill with friendly parrots and roos. Great value, loved it.

Beautiful spot for a relaxing break

North Durras caravan park is a very well looked after place. There customer service is so good. The rooms are very well looked after. North Durras is a beautiful peaceful place to visit. I will definitely tell others that this is a place to holiday with family.

Awesome stay at Durras Lake North Holiday Park

Just back from three nights in this serene campground. Lyre birds, bustling fairy wrens, kangaroos, goannas & surrounded by spotted gums. If you want tranquility with no noise from other campers, no radios, no televisions, no parties then this is the place to be. Perfect for people who want a tranquil camping experience.

We had a camp site for a week just after the bushfires. While we were a bit unsure, the regular email updates from Julia and Andrew convinced us that it was safe to visit and that we wouldn't be a burden to the locals. 
The wildlife is abundant and clearly not scared of people! The roos can start to pester for food but it's important not to feed them no matter how cute they look (see picture attached).
The site is well laid out, and facilities are clean, hot showers for a small fee and drinking water for free. The cafe serves fantastic coffee, creamy and smooth - even the decaf was excellent. 
The staff were all unreal, very friendly and helpful.
We'll definitely be back.

Camping paradise

I stayed here during my NSW trip for 5 nights, and could have easyily stayed a couple of days more. I had chosen a fully equipped cabin close to the grasing roos. For an overseas guy like me this was an fantastic experience, having all these roos and birds around. Literally.
The cabin was fully equipped with everything that was required to make the stay as comfortable as possible. I travelled during „winter“ (or better: what Australians „call winter“ 😊 ) and could even enjoy a heating system during the „cold“ evenings. Big, fully equipped kitchen incl. gadgets and utensils, big fridge/freezer, comfortable bed incl. warm set of linens😊, clean and functional bathroom, veranda plus garden furnitures to have the dinner outside. Even an own garden-BBQ. Absolute nothing to complain!  
If you forget to shop essentials for your stay, Andrew will probably be able to help you out in his shop.
I love wildlife / forrests of Murramarang National Park, so there were countless options to spend my time: The lake, the ocean, Durras Beach, Depot Beach, Pebbly Beach, Burrawang Walk…all in walking distance possible. Just to name a few. One highlight was a trip to Pretty Beach (o.k., by car) with the encounter of a pair of Glossy Black Cockatoos on Snapper Point Lookout trail. Kangaroos are really everywhere in this area. All kinds of birds to watch, starting right on your veranda. This area is truly a birdwatchers paradise...I love it. And finally i could watch a possum shortly after sunset at the spot Andrew recommended before. I found out that it was sitting every evening at the same time on the same tree/branch. But a quite shy guy, this possum is.
Overall i had spend 5 wonderful days and nights there, and whenever i return to NSW in the future, i will definitely make sure to return to this place as well. Highly recommended, thanks for a wonderful time!

Perfect getaway for nature-lovers!

We stayed in the King Parrot Cottage for a family get together.  Most of my family had never been to the area before and were amazed by the abundant flora and fauna and fully enjoyed the location and atmosphere of the park.  The cottage was well priced, well equipped, clean and comfortable.  We are looking forward to visiting again!

Family Get Together to Remember

Been here several times and just love the serenity and beauty of Durras. A great park with a wonderful subtropical bush walk backing onto it and the beach out front with wonderful lakes next door.. what more could you want!
 

What a gem

We went with two families for two night stay on camping ground. Really great natural experience. . Place is close to beach as well as perfect spot for kids as well. They have nice & clean toilet & other amenities as well. Can buy essentials from their shop as well. 
Love to come back again & again...Of course How can forget watching Kangaroo from our bed!!!

Forget paying thousands of dollars at some wellness retreat. Camping under the stars at Durras Lake North Holiday Park is the only detox you'll ever need!

Andrew takes his time to present a clean, family friendly camp site. Unlike most other camp sites which always seem to have the unruly all night party crowds, I was pleasantly surprised at the low 'human' noise of this place, even though there were no vacancies.This made the rejuvenating natural sounds of the Murramarang National Park really stand out, and was the highlight for me.  

Waking up to the sight of dozens of grazing kangaroos, and that beautiful sound of an Eastern Whip Bird really goes a long way to chill you out.

Durras Lake North as a destination is a hidden natural gem, and camping at Durras Lake North Holiday Park is the perfect way to enjoy this magical hideaway.
