We'd not intended to stay in Dysart but it was late in the day and we were fortunate to get a room. Spacious, clean and tidy (though someone had put their fst through an interior wall). The sliding door didn't slide too well but wasn't a problem. The meals were great value and well priced, as was 6the house red. A full breakfast was on offer (pre-ordered) in the morning included in the tariff. This was our last of two dozern nights on-the-road in Queensland so the experience was that the Jolly Collier was$5 above the average price and considerably above the average standard.

Jolly Good Show

I booked this hotel as it was next to the location I would be working at the following day. I arrived late and checked in okay. I was told my room was around to the right down a driveway. Ten minutes later I finally found it as it was hidden behind some bushes and the lighting in the area was terrible. None of the rooms had room numbers that can easily be seen while driving and they are not in order. Once in the room, it was nice, clean and fresh, until I discovered the toilet had not been flushed. 

The bed was a little hard for my liking, but it was okay. There was a little bit of noise from some of the "neighbours", but it was Saturday night. 

The next morning I went for breakfast, which I was told was continental and started at 06:30. I walked in at 06:30 and found a few small packets of wheetbix and cornflakes. I managed to find the milk. I had been told, when checking in, that, if I wanted anything more substantial, I would have to go to the servo as they don't do cooked breakfasts on Sunday and the only cafe in town is closed. After breakfast I threw my key in the slot and left.

Okay night

Stayed one night for work. Room was ok. Television was tiny and mounted high up on the wall and difficult to watch. Phone was not operational except for the constant buzzing noise coming from it. Dinner was ok but expensive for "pub food". Breakfast (I ordered a big breakfast) was the worst meal I've ever been served! The sausage was rock hard(couldn't cut with a steak knife) eggs over cooked and mushrooms were burnt(how you can burn mushrooms I'll never know). I was so disgusted I got up and walked out. Wish I had taken a photo as it was really,really bad. Wouldn't feed that meal to my dogs.

Worst meal I've ever had

We had lunch here today and the pork belly was very generous. 
We then decided to stay in town so booked one night in a cabin.
Lady at front desk was pleasant. Quick check in. 
Room is small but clean. 
There is a hole in the wall that should be fixed. 
This town accommodation is generally expensive so for $99 a night we were ok with what we got. I would stay again. 

Ok for one night 

Thought we'd try the local for a Friday night dinner. Ordered an entree to share as well as two mains, our meals took over half an hour to come out (there were only two other people there so not a busy service or anything) everything came out together with some excuse that the docket didn't print properly.
I ordered a crumbed steak with chips and salad and my husband ordered a burger, when our meals came out I closely inspected my salad as a noticed a fair bit of wilted greens. After some poking and prodding the salad was actually mouldy not just wilted... The salad on my husbands burger wasn't far off this as well. We didn't stick around to actually eat any of the rest of it. Upon letting staff know they were very quick to apologise and provided a full refund on everything so great customer service but unfortunately we won't be back, such a shame as we are locals and there aren't many other places to eat in town. 

Mouldy Dinner

Rooms are clean and tidy. Front counter people very friendly and helpful. Booking confirmation and invoicing system via email works well. 

Beer is cold but there is always a long wait for meals to be served. No issues with quality of food but you'll be either very hungry or pretty drunk by the time you are eating 😂
