The motel is  O. K.  it has new owners  past reviews do not count .
The food is not good  every hot breakfast was cold .
Our first and last dinner they served meal to me that was not what I asked for
Other meals served to other guest showed a lack of cooking skills

The exterior is very shabby and unkept- the room had clean linen and a glimpse of the lake- the chef was on holiday so no food- the shower was old and out of date.
There was an electric jug but it couldn’t be filled under the tap only in the shower which is messy! No glasses in the room!
We had trouble booking into town so opted to stay here- it’s definitely run down- the manager talked about renovations -

Wow, what a lovely position, a lovely room and very centrally located for us to explore the area over 5 days. The villa was very quiet and it was great to relax and sleep in. We will definatelybe back. Well done management, we had a great stay.

Made a reservation, specifically asked to use the vouchers, gave the details only to be called by the owner a week before the stay that the voucher would not be accepted. After I explained that I sent the details weeks earlier, he said he would look into it. The owner called a day prior to the stay and started being rude and blamed me for not following up after the reservation, and that the voucher could not be used because he did not scan it before the expiry date. He kept blaming his own booking system and would not allow the booking without me having to pay for the vouchers he failed to scan. Incompatible! Poor booking system.
I eventually found a better place to stay and not have to deal with this rude owner.

Rude and Incompetent

UNDER NEW MANAGMENT. Lee told us he had taken over the management of the hotel  very recently. He is laid back and accommodating. This hotel is right on Lake Jindabyne. You can cast a fishing rod off the bank or drive around to the boat ramp and take the boat out for a day of fishing. We even beached the tinny up the bank when we wanted a break and walked up to our room, went in and made a coffee, while watching the boat from our balcony. Too good! This hotel has that old school charm. Lee told us he has a bit of work to do to modernise the premises but this was not a problem for us as we are easy going and we appreciated the local hospitality and quaintness of the hotel. We will be returning here in future.

Laid back and excellent location for fishing

We travelled from Sydney and made a reservation for dinner at restaurant.We all were tired and hungry ,specially kids.When we arrived at 7.40pm we were asked to wait to be seated by reception person ,so we did sat and wait literally in front of him.after waiting for 35 minutes as kids were getting restless I asked the the person how long will be the wait.He tried to avoid eye contact and told me it will be 5 to 10 minutes.So we waited for another 20 minutes and he continued to ignore us.So my wife went and ask him if we can atleast do take away as we all are very tired and hungry.He looked at us and told us that the kitchen is now closed and he did not know we were waiting!!!

We were shocked, I thought he was joking.When told him that we spoke to him twice and were waiting just in front of him ,he said some how he forgot.

We all were upset and angry,we had to drive to Jindabyne town and likely Chinese restaurant was open and they agreed to do a take away as it was close to 9.30pm then.

It was a horrible experience and nobody is accountable to what happened.

Would not recommend

Stopped in for a meal and while the decor could do with a bit of a make over, the service and food was fantastic. Very much enjoyed the haloumi fries and cooking your own steak at the table the way you like it was perfect after a day on the mountain! 

Great meal

We stayed for 8 nights, and less than impressed is the nicest way to put it. The only positive things I can say is the beds were comfortable and the outlook onto the lake was nice. Certainly not worth $350 per night!!
The breakfast would be good if it was actually hot, even getting there upon opening at 6:30am the bacon was cold, eggs were generally only half cooked and sausages often reheated from the previous day.
New manager made guests feel like an inconvenience for just being there, he is not a people person at all, the upside of this was the entertainment of what he might do next in the breakfast room, from running into guests without apology, throwing his hands in the air and swearing because he had to clear the tables after guests had finished their breakfasts, standing around with his hands down his pants, then briefly disappearing to the kitchen and returning with clean plates and we just hoped he’d washed his hands but not sure he’d actually been gone long enough to have had time. 
We were not provided with fresh linen and even when we asked for clean towels, we were not given a full set only bath towels. 
They did come into the room each day weather we liked it or not as there was no sign we could hang on the door, (although towards the end of our trip I did notice that some rooms had these so it must be pot luck) from what I could tell they changed the bins most days and sometimes restocked the room with toilet paper, tea bags etc but we frequently had to go and ask for these things much to the dismay of staff. 
In summary, the place has potential, but overall it was very disappointing and overpriced.

Enjoyed the food and the vibe.   Cassie made us feel at home.   See if you can guess  the secret ingredient in the garlic bread.   Cassie kept us guessing.  And the fun of the Fiesta at the Siesta has to be seen to be believed!!

A couple of nights ago, while on a skiing holiday, our family was treated to an amazing gastronomic experience of fresh local ocean trout de-boned at our table and the most succulent tender steak grilled on the stone-grill (also at our table) in the restaurant. Not only was the the food top class with a view over Lake Jindabyne, but the maitre d was bubbly and attentive and chef took time to come out and chat with us about our meal. Will definitely be returning!
