My young daughter and I stayed here for two days to attend a wedding nearby.  

The room is lovely! Fully self contained. The property has a tennis court and a proper sauna (which was a blessing to get rid of toxins after over exerting myself). 

A beautiful recently renovated outdoor pool is well worth a dip.  Then there is the tennis court - if I could play I would have asked to get the court ready! 

By not being right in town you don’t have to worry about town noise so you really do get to unwind. Mansfield is under an hour away and so is Euroa.

All in all a good place to stay - with room to stretch. We will definitely be back- professional hosts and beautiful facilities.

A lovely place to stay in the country

We enjoyed 3 nights at Mittagong in January and can recommend this as a place to stay in the Eildon area. The hosts were friendly, the fridge well stocked for breakfast and the pool was a welcome addition at the end of a hot summer day. The homestead was clean and well appointed with everything we needed for a short stay.

Relaxing Getaway

I got to visit Mittagong and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. The facilities are very clean and comfy and the hosts are super friendly. It is great to just get out of the city and relax and this is someplace I highly recommend staying here.
It is very easy to get too as well.

Fantastic getaway

The accommodation is wonderful, very spacious, well equipped, comfortable beds, beautiful views and very peaceful environment. Well located for trips to lake Eildon and Goulburn River, and the rail trail for bike rides. Breakfast provisions are very generous.
The pool is at the owners house and not very big, so I did not want to use it although it was one of the things that had motivated me to book there. Outdoor furniture could be a bit sturdier, it is rather wobbly. But if you do not intend to spend your days there - it is a good place to use as a base.

Relaxing and comfortable

Mittagong Homestead is situated about 1.5-2hrs out of Melbourne and is a great destination for those looking to get away from the city. We took a trip with my dad and young daughter (shes around a year old). 

The B&B is situated on a large estate in a separate building (formerly woolsheds) with the owners living in a separate building. There was lots of outdoor safe space for my daughter to run around and there is a pool near the main house (too cold this time of year!) if you want it.

The owners were friendly & helpful and knowledgeable about the local area recommending some good pubs.

The rooms are large and comfortable with all the amenities you would expect and the owners supply a small set of food juices, milk and everything you need for a cooked breakfast. 

I guess a few of the appliances looked on the older side but were all clean and worked without issue. A small point but some fresh coffee would have been a nice touch :)

The building does get quite cold (we stayed in June) but you have the choice of electric heaters or a fire to make a very cosy stay. There is also a large spa bath if you want to use it.

Mittagong is a beautiful countryside area and nearby towns such as Alexandria have a small set of cafes, shops and pubs to explore. It also isn’t too far from Lake Eildon or the ski fields if you wanted to use it as a base.

Great choice if you want a quiet relaxing break away from everything.

Quiet cosy retreat

We found the accommodation very spacious and adequate.  Unfortunately it was not cold enough to light the fire.  The outlook would have been lovely but the High Country is in very severe drought and the paddocks were quite brown.  Still able to enjoy our time visiting Alexandra, Eildon, and Yea although Lake Eildon was very low.  Hope to come back when the country side is green.
