Stayed for a few nights in Stormy Cabin. The cabins are at the other end of the island so a couple of hours drive from Penneshaw but once you arrive down there you will be amazed. It is absolutely beautiful and wild and uninhabited. The cabins are very close to Flinders Chase NP which was burnt out a few years ago with bushfires but the whole area is regenerating and the animals are coming back into the area so saw koalas and lots of kangaroos which is great.
The cabins are set back on a hill overlooking Hanson Bay and the views are spectacular. No TV in the cabin so it was time to just relax and rejuvenate and just be with nature. Very private area and lots of lovely walks from cabins down to beach. The only thing was when someone else arrived in cabin next door there was not much privacy and if you don't get friendly talking neighbours then it can be awkward as there is no wall between each cabin balcony and it is a shared BBQ. It would be ideal to put a wall between so there is more privacy between cabins and put a BBQ on each balcony. Apart from that it was perfect.

LOVELY VIEWS

What an amazing view these cabins have, we stayed here for 3 nights and found the location great base for some of the local attractions. Alot of damage caused by the bushfires is slowly re generating. Sadly l think while they have been trying to look after the wildlife sanctuary l think the cabins have been somewhat neglected and they are badly in need of some serious TLC l wish Tom and the team all the best in there rebuiding phase.

Great view and plenty to watch from the large windows-even from your bed!

One of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. Entire beach to yourself or one fisherman, night skies that are sooo spectacular, close to Flinders Chase for daily walks and sightseeing, panoramic views, fireplace and bbq. Good communication. Please don't tell too many people about this unique special place. Do tour of wildlife sanctuary as well. Self cater bring your own food, make sure you have plenty of fuel although you can fill up at camping grounds down the road. Walk to Kelly Caves.

Lets keep this a secret

We stayed in the Stormy Petrel cabin and it was breathtaking. The views were incredible and the location itself it so special in the gorgeous bay with clear water, stunning coastal vegetation and all the wildlife. It was so good having next to no one else around.  The cabin was fitted out really well with everything we needed for our stay. 

Cabins in an incredible location

Stayed in one of the group of 4 in August 2019. Great place and had a wonderful time. Cabin was good, clean and comfortable with a wood fire (with wood supplied) which was lovely on the cool evenings. Wonderful outlook over the bay and Southern Ocean. Fished at the first beach and had a ball even though a big seal went through while fishing. Took a nice walk along the rugged cliff tops while viewing the Southern Ocean. Lovely place to stay and get away from the modern world. Will definitely return. Loved the place.

Hanson Bay Cabins

We stayed here for 4 nights.  The cabin was very comfortable, clean and the views were amazing.  The weather was quite changeable but it was magical seeing the colour of the sea change and to watch the waves rolling in.  We really enjoyed having the wood burner in the evenings too.  Great place to stay and relax.

Great accommodation and beautiful views

We stayed in the Cygnet cabin, one of the two more recently built cabins.

Fully self contained, it was beautifully appointed, very clean and tidy, comfortable bed.
We had also asked for a fold up bed to be set up in the living area for my daughter and when we arrived at 3pm, they had forgotten to do that. 
So I called the office up, and no problems at all, they sent a lovely young man along straight away with the bed and linen to set it up for us. Considering the office is about 4 or 5 Kim away, I was very impressed!
We loved our stay here, the beach views, and the beach itself for a walk are absolutely amazing. I’ve seen some pretty good beaches in Australia, and I think this one is the most beautiful of them all.
I would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing views

Beautiful, magical place. We had an old log cabin overlooking the beautiful beach and ocean! You could hear the ocean and see possums and kangaroos! Food delivered to the room was a great addition and it was clean with new carpet, old cupboards and nice furniture. Loved the logs and the rustic feel but mostly loved the beach and the beauty around the cabins. So close to the remarkable rocks and admirals arch. Definitely Stay!

Beautiful

Excellent view from our cabin with floor to ceiling windows in the living and bedroom. Extremely comfortable bed and all the kitchen and personal accessories you may need are provided. Cliff top walk or beach walk? Either/or is available. Very restful and relaxing stay.

Excellent accommodation

This one is tricky to review.
By far, it has the most tranquil, scenic location with the most spectacular view. We loved that part. So very relaxing and just what we wanted.

The negatives;
I understand that we are in remote(ish) wilderness and subject to inclement weather but the cleanliness of the unit and upkeep was dreadful. I know that in a natural environment bleach isn't the answer, but elbow grease, a damp cloth and scrubbing brush would have removed half the issues. We stayed in the Ewbank room. The cobwebs above the main bed window were so very dusty! I thought dusty cobwebs were something of horror movies. The skirting boards in the second room were thick with dust, the dust under the couch and on top of the fridge was thick, the tiles around the toilet were black and hadn't had a good clean in goodness know how long, the window frames... I could go on but I think you get the idea.

The second issue was the dated fittings. The brown cupboards in the bedrooms were putrid and I froze rather than getting the spare blanket out. Surely the cupboards could be taken out and a simple frame with shelf and small hanger installed. 
The kitchen; a buffet from the 1980's that contained mismatched useless equipment (two wooden spoons, but no egg flip, bbq lifter or full size pair of tongs!) A single serve coffee plunger for a family of four, bugger all workspace to prepare meals. Knowing the remoteness of the location, please go to ikea and get a few decent bench tops and make the space more useable.

The possums; they are not cute. They woke us at night and pooed on our table every day. Please close up the cavity and let them return to the wild.

Over all we had a very pleasant stay, we would happily pay more if the facilites and house keeping were significantly improved.
