We booked online at last minute but didnt receive a confirmation so turned up anyway.  Was told no room available.  When we explained we had booked online they apologised & said they did have our booking & had just confirmed.  As we stood there our confirmation came through.  Reception was polite & the room clean.  Everything we needed in room.  Microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery & cutlery. Good size parking outside unit.  Water in shower hard to adjust & very noisy.

Enjoyed our stay

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MOTEL. Booked accommodation & due to bad weather and the unfortunate nature that Gympie floods after heavy rainfall the trip  was canceled. This was a decision made by the local emergency authorities to stay away, roads cut, local flooding etc. 
Very disappointing the trip was abandoned but out of our control. 
Contacted the motel straight away  to advise the obvious that we would not be able to complete the booking for the following night. Asked for a credit as we could reuse it in future. As the booking was made through a booking company we had to contact them directly Followed the correct procedure and the response received to the booking agency from the motel was unable to offer a credit as the cancellation was last minute. (We canceled 24h hours before arrival).
This was an appalling response considering it was due to a natural weather event. 
We were already questioning what this place was like given the price was that of a luxury apartment on either of the coasts. 
Extremely poor business conduct given we didn’t ask for a refund, simply another date given the original event was canceled due to extreme weather. 
Will definitely be avoiding this motel & advising colleagues of our experience so they don’t get caught out also. 
Taking money under these circumstances is disgusting and a very low act.

EXTREMELY POOR FORM

The setup of the room with bedding for 5 people is a big tick, the upgraded look of the rooms big tick. However our floors were really dirty, not vacuumed or mopped. The shower screen was dirty and knowing the screen was dirty and floors hadn't been cleaned we decided to skip showing and wait until we arrived home later that day. We went to make a cup of tea but the tea cups were also dirty and hadn't been cleaned. Looks like it was a quick change of the sheets, towels and wipe down of the sink. If the cups were clean and the floor cleaned then our review would be completely different. It is also right on the highway and the trucks were noisy all night (to be expected) but don't expect a peaceful sleep due to location. The lights outside the room also super bright ALLLL night right outside your window. Has potential to be good just needs proper cleaning and considering COVID etc it just isn't up to standard.

Upgraded modernised rooms that look good but our room was dirty

Travelling from Brisbane to Rockhampton, we phoned this run-down motel at approx. 8.45pm.  We had just flown in from interstate and since it was raining quite hard, we decided that we wouldn't risk travelling past Gympie in the rain at that hour of the night.  This rude and extremely unprofessional woman grunted as she answered the phone.  I asked if she had a room available for that night and after more grumbles from her, she accepted our booking and quoted $10 more than the room was advertised at.  I explained that we were approx. an hour away and we reluctantly made our way to what had already presented itself as the motel to absolutely avoid at any cost.  When we arrived approx 10 to 15 mins later than we had hoped (it absolutely poured with rain which slowed our journey), I can honestly say that she could not possibly have been any more rude and her behaviour was far less than that expected of somebody running a motel.  If she didn't want to take a booking at that hour, it would be far more professional to have said that they were fully booked or just not have answered the phone if she didn't know how to set up a voicemail indicating that reception was closed.  AND she should have had the intuition to alter her "Vacancy" sign to "No Vacancy" so that she didn't have to put her rude self on display to travellers spending their money at such an institution. Please avoid this nightmare as I am sure that whatever you did whilst booking or checking in, would still see you as disappointed and astonished as we were.

Rudest individual ever to work in hospitality!

there was people outside smoking and it hotboxed our room. it was overall terrible and my child has asthma and just about died. i would not recomend this establishment to anyone. i would like to thank you for the lung cancer.

This motel is old and tired. The rooms are badly in need of some modernisation and TLC. Our room was clean but showing it's age with a hole in the front door, leaking shower taps and paintwork needing attention. Highway traffic noise was also a problem with heavy vehicles heard all night. No breakfast forms in room so went to McDonald's. This motel needs some money spent on it. Will look for better alternatives next time in Gympie. 

Looking old and tired

Was late at night when I called to see if they had a room available for my family (we had a 14hour drive) and it wasn’t a problem, room was very tidy, great shower and very comfortable for us. Also a great location!

Great service

Our flight arrived late in to Brisbane and we ended up driving North in the evening.  As the night sky got darker and darker, the rain started.  Firstly, spits and very quickly it began to hose down, thunder, forked lightning....the rain was so heavy later on that we couldn’t drive any further.  It was good timing that at this stage we saw lights on a hill and sure enough we found them to be lights of a motel...Fox Glenn.  Seriously, we had no bloody idea where we were but there was no way we could continue on driving.
Husband went in and the lady had just started packing up for the night.  Phew, we got there in just in the nick of time.  It was bucketing down!  The landlady was extremely friendly and we checked in.  The outside of the room was pretty ordinary but we were just so relieved to be out of the storm.  The interior of the room was fine, I was pleasantly surprised.  Nothing wrong with it. Clean, decent bathroom, good beds.  I don’t think it claims to be 5 star.  It was actually really neat to sit outside the front door and have a beer watching the forked lightning and listening to the tremendous roaring thunder.

When we woke in the morning we ventured outside to check out where the hang we were and got a real view of the motel. I have to be honest, if we had pulled in during the day, I may have said to husband to keep driving.  However, I would now happily go back.  It’s a good old school Aussie motel and the landlady is lovely, the rooms fine.  I actually loved our night there and will treasure memories of the adventure forever.

A great port in a storm

The room didn’t appear to have been renovated since the 60s.  I booked a double bed room and got one filled with bunks.   The air was stuffy and the fridge covered in rust.  The manager had an issue with the commission taken by the travel agency and took it out on me.   She was extremely rude.

The lady who runs the place is an angel and makes your stay even better 
I stay in motels all around Australia and this rates as one of the best for everything a business traveler needs
