Stopped here for a quick overnight on our way to Airlie Beach. Very Adequate Motel. No frills in the room but spacious, clean and everything you need. Restaurant not open but room service available. Good meal and prompt service. We thought like others that given its proximity to the highway, the room would be noisy but it was soundproof. Dropped 1star due to only a continental breakfast for $20 each being all that was available next morning. Would certainly recommend this place for a stopover heading north or south. 

Very Adequate 

Near the highway so easy to find. Was concerned that it would be noisy but as long as you kept the doors shut, there was no issue. Great place to stay, easy parking...we have a big car, a few stars up to room but only like 3 or 4. Good, clean room with a big bed and good bathroom. Just basic kitchen supplies, only kettle and 1 choice of tea or coffee. No other plates... Restaurant on site, with plenty of choices. Prices were ok, sometimes they can be very high but I would call theirs mid range. Air-conditioning but only small TV, desk and a few chairs. 

Motor on in to the MR Motor Inn

Large rooms, clean and comfortable. The area was good. Walking distance from town (hilly - about 30 min stroll)…  
Close to the main road (as most of them are) but road noise wasn’t bad in our room. 
Totally recommend and yes we would stay there again.

Comfy and nice place to stay

Such an enjoyable place to stay! Really friendly people and great accommodation. Really nice rooms and just a joy to stay there! I have stayed there quite a number of times and each time I am very glad I did! Can not ask for better value IMO.

Affordable and great quality -- I always sleep well here

Very clean and comfortable Motel that is run by hard working owner. Nothing was too much trouble.
Close to town and easy access to everything. Extremely quiet considering the Motel is on a major highway.
Undercover parking which is always a bonus.

Clean & Comfortable

I have stayed here many times for work, but have never taken the time to write a review. Which means that I have never taken the time to give a great big shout out to Linda the receptionist. The cleaner. The “Jenny on the spot”. 

Is she gruff? Yes. Can she be short at times? Yes. Does she have a wicked sense of humour? Yes. Would she do whatever she possibly can to make your stay more enjoyable? Yes.  Does she have a heart of good. 100 times YES. I have read some of the more recent reviews and while I can see why they might say what they’ve said I also think that that’s part of what makes my visits to Gympie so entertaining. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, great location blah blah. But Linda is the heart and soul. Keep doing you, Linda. Just make sure I keep getting that ground foot apartment. No stairs for this gammy kneed broad x

Quick check in, and nice clean room that was close to where I was working. 

Ample parking & while I could hear the traffic on the road, it wasn’t too bad.

I ate out locally but would have room service next time for the convenience. Shops are nearby.

Nice and clean, no fuss checkin

I was dismissive of previous reviews about the receptionist/manager's rudeness, thinking the motel had a generally good rating. My mistake.
I have never been spoken to so rudely in making a simple phone inquiry to book a room - you know, to give someone business ... especially in today's economy?

Hanging out a sign that says "motor inn", does suggest you are likely to be asked questions to supply rooms to customers. Politeness in answering is usually understood.

So that readers can judge for themselves if they want to deal with this motel, here's a review of our conversation, and be assured, this is very close to verbatim. I've not had to embellish to make it sound worse than it was. She did this all herself. 

Question: Hi I was wondering if you have a room available for tonight and if you do corporate rates?
Answer: Well that depends where you're coming from.
Question: Sorry, what do you mean?
Answer: Well, if you're coming from a red zone the answer is no.
Fair enough, I thought. Strange way of communicating, but okay, these are strange times. So, on we go, after I've assured her my husband (who would be staying) is not coming from a red zone but from Hervey Bay.

Question: So, do you have a nice quiet room for tonight, without an adjoining door into the next room, and do you have a corporate rate?
Answer: We don't do corporate rates and we are almost full so I can't choose a special room just for you.  I don't know what you mean about an adjoining door ... we are a motel.

What? I was tempted to hang up at that point - I've been told many times, in far nicer ways that somewhere is almost full, so they just have the one room to offer. (Obviously no-one else had to speak to this lady to book or they wouldn't have been so full!) 
Perhaps a good salesperson would have said, 'all our rooms are very nice' or explained some small shortcoming of the only remaining room(s) but said it's very nice and clean and comfy ...  You get the idea. 
I would also have thought most motel owners would know what an "adjoining door" was, but I explained what it was and that my husband didn't like them because he finds noise leaks from one room to the next. It's something I have read many times in other reviews, so he's not alone in this.
Answer: Well, we don't have many families, we have business people, so maybe that's why I didn't know what you were talking about.
Okay, so I'm getting more irritated, but really do need somewhere for my husband to stay the night.

Question: So, if you don't have adjoining doors on any of your rooms that's good. Do you have a room for the night and what is the cost?
Answer:  Well when would he be arriving?
Question: I'm not 100% sure but definitely before 7pm, is that okay?
Answer: Well, no, I'd have to say no then, I don't have a room.

WOW! There was no, " I'm really sorry but we close reception at such and such a time so we won't be able to help" or "could he make it by such and such a time because we close at this time ... " Perhaps they could have left the key somewhere? Nope, just it's too much trouble.

Here's a tip to management: Any of the above suggested changes to this conversation would potentially have seen me look at booking the next time my husband travelled through on business if you couldn't help on this occasion... as it is, I would never call this number again, and it annoyed me to the point of spending my time writing this review. It's just very, very poor business on your part ...

Manager/Receptionist as rude as other reviews suggest

Rang to make a booking on their direct booking number which I do often to give the motel the full monies rather than booking agencies. 
A lady answered ( name with held but we’ll call her lady L ), I asked what they had a available for the 18th and she answered “what do you want to know”  I was a bit dumbfounded with that, I thought I had  asked  what I wanted to know on that date. Lady L then asked again with a bit of anger “ what do I want to know”  with that I hung up.
Dear Lady L , get some coaching on phone manor and remember your customers make your living. If you dont think this then rethink you employment.
Sady disappointed.

Rude phone manor

Hotel rooms are nice and clean and good location to town. Arrived to find the restaurant is shut and only offering only room service. No breakfast menu available and phones ring out trying to order room service. Host at the desk is rude and obnoxious.
