Cobb Inlander Motel

We arrived at hotel at 1pm, 1 hour before check in time. We asked if we could park our car in the car park prior to check in and was told to come back at 2pm. 

This was the first time in our history of staying at a hotel that we have been turned away from parking before check in. There were no other cars in the car park so was confused as to why we couldn’t park.

Next time in Hay we will choose a different hotel to stay at.

Unable to park before check in

The main street of Hay offers quite a few motels but chance brought us to this one. The appearance from the road is not great but it was obvious that a lot of work has been done recently. 
Reception was wonderful. The management here is keen to be helpful and pleasant to guests.
The room itself was excellent - clean and comfortable. It looked as though the cupboards etc had been recently installed. Everything in the room was clean,
neat and looked brand new. Large flat screen TV, internet, jug, microwave.  
Bathroom was good - again the vanity unit looked new. There was a glass shower and plenty of hot water.
The pool looked clean and tidy but we did not try it.
This place was much better than the outside appearance and it appears that the management is on a program of continual improvement. It offered excellent value.
Location is walking distance to hotels and the bowls club where we had very good Chinese food.
We would not hesitate to stay again.

Much better than it looks from the road

As soon as we walked into the room it smelt of super strong bleach. Stains on carpet floor and room didn't appear clean. Sat in bed and it leaned to one side. Went to have a shower and there was NO HOT WATER. Literally no water came out of the hot tap. So I had a cold shower. My husband went to have a shower in the morning and again the same thing happened. No one to talk to in the morning to let them know about this. Emailed the motel and never received a response. We stayed at a busy time of year, and were charged $135. Not acceptable for this price. I won't be staying here again and would recommend to others to not stay here. 

Don't stay here

We stayed here overnight on our way home. Bec who checked us in was extremely helpful and very friendly.
The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all our luggage. The bathroom had been renovated and was very clean with a nice hot shower.
Good location as the motel in right in the centre of town.


Good Motel

The staff here are super helpful and friendly. From check-in to check out, Beck couldn’t have been nicer. The rooms are clean, comfortable and excellent value. Handy to everything, but quiet and peaceful. 
Well worth your custom. 

Friendly and Excellent value for money.

This advertises refurbished rooms but the one I was put in was not refurbished. Having said that, it was definitely priced accordingly ... I got this room by arriving without using the booking websites for less than $100. It's a strange layout for the motel... with a square of rooms to the back. I believe these are the ones they haven't refurbed yet.

Customer service was really good. Value was brilliant. Location was incredible...walking distance to everything. I actually got a good night's sleep here as well. Budget motel done well.

Well located in the centre of town, friendly service. Room was dusty with an overuse of chemical air freshener. Linen seemed clean though. Everything else pretty standard  for a property of this type and class. Tiny shower which was not great.

Average for Hay

Peaceful, friendly, clean and tidy. Great place for peace of mind.

Lots to enjoy, good food, friendly people. A beautiful small town that has a lot to give. Historic buildings and respectful to their environment, this town of Hay is a beautiful place to enjoy when passing through.

Splendid

Standard motel, perfectly adequate for a short stay. Nice bathroom, looks recently renovated likewise walls appeared to be recently painted.

Unfortunately there was a problem with the floor becoming wet, probably from the shower. Water pressure was low but good & hot. There was also water on the shelf next to the microwave oven presumably coming from the a/c unit above. 

We liked having the microwave oven as well as toaster, jug, fridge, cutlery & plates. 

Good value.

Good Value 

All good, the room was very clean and tidy. Nice and warm air conditioning in winter. Very reasonable tariff and a nice welcome from reception lady. Parking at the door. Free wifi was good too. Just a short walk to restaurants and club for all types of meals. What more could you need.  A one night stop on the way to Adelaide and I will be stopping on the way back too.
