It's an old motel on the main street/highway in Innisfail. But, the rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet considering the location. Walking distance to local hotels and a small mall. Recommended for location and the service of the manager.

Pretty Good For The Money

Jim was really helpful. Room is large and very comfy. Only slight issue is the main road can get a little noisy but not until the morning. I'd stay here again. Jim will give you a microwave, cutlery and crockery if needed.

Neat and very clean

Moondarra Motel has seen better days, but it remains functional and clean, and is not far from the town centre. The highlight is the manager, who was very accommodating and friendly. Affordable for those on a budget.

Compact motel in town centre

Rating this 3 star motel with 3 star expectations and no more. As a 3 star motel, the accommodation met our expectations. The gentleman at reception was friendly and helpful. Our family room was large, spacious and had a well appointed kitchen. However, I would like to mention that there was hair on the bedsheet under my pillow.

The motel looks a little dated. The garden, driveway and carpark needed some weeding.

If you overlook these things, and just need a bed to tie you over until the morning so you can be on your way to your destination, then this motel will meet your needs.

OK but not great

Friendly, extremely helpful owners and staff. Went out of their way to accommodate us. Will definitely stay here again. Had everything we could ever want in a motel. 
Car park right outside door, clean rooms, door on the shower (none of those half door things that we have been seeing all over North Queensland  that spill water out all over the bathroom floor). Everything we need to cook our own food, and close to shops if need to buy. Great size room too,  with good size kitchen bins, sink and with very efficient air con. 
Country relaxed style. Awesome value for money. Simple old style motel like they used to be, with great customer service. 

Excellent Country style service, above the rest!

I have stayed at the Moondarra Motel every fornight for the last 6 years for work reasons. I have stayed in a lot of motels over the years because I travel for my job, and this has been my favourite by far. Jim and Cheryl are both lovely and friendly and have always gone out of their way to make my stay comfortable. It is a budget motel so it isnt the Ritz, but the rooms are always spotless and very well maintained and they have free high speed Wifi. They also have a range of room sizes including some with kitchens. It is located within easy walk of 2 supermarkets as well as restaurants, takeaway K-mart etc. I highly recommend them if you are looking for affordable accommodation in Innisfail.

Great Service for a budget motel

A great motel to stop at on our travels down the east coast. Clean and spacious with milk and water waiting on our arrival, the wonderful host even upgraded our room.  Extremely friendly staff, would definitely stay again! 

Perfect stopover 

Our expectations were not high when we saw the motel. It looks like it is in pretty bad shape from the outside. Once we checked in and saw our room, we were happy with the accommodation. The room was clean. What more could we ask for. The air con wasn’t fantastic but it kept the room comfortable.  There isn’t a lot of choices of hotel/motels in Innisfail. We would love to have a 4 star accommodation, but that isn’t an option. This place suited our needs and for that we are grateful.

Clean 

I stayed here a couple weeks ago and upon arrival the gentleman seemed rather lovely however that quickly changed. As my partner and I were sitting out the front having a cigarette the door was a little open with the Ac on we had not been out there long when he came over and had a go at us for the ac running with the door open now it was an accident and we apologised and then as we were almost ready to head out my silly head partner knocked my wine glass over and yes it smashed on tiles, I walked into the office asked for a dust pan and offered to replace the glass or glasses and his response was to never come back things happen and in no way were we disrespectful or rude I will never stay again and I will not recommend when family come to visit I was completely mortified by his behaviour.

RUDE!!!!

We were in Innisfail for a conference. We stayed at the Moondarra Motel. It was clean, fresh and comfortable. When we checked out, a jacket was left behind in the wardrobe. Jim, the manager, sent me a text to remind me it was there. I went to my car to put a note to remind me to return for it and the jacket was in a zip lock bag on my windscreen! He had driven across the bridge to the conference after remembering me mentioning it. I was amazed that in this day and age some-one would go out of their way lin this manner. I would definitely stay there again.
