2 of us booked a couple of rooms for an overnight stay while on a motorbike trip around the Snowys. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering some suggestions for dining out that evening. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was included which was just what was needed before hitting the road.

Overnight during bike ride

A bright red colour so you can see it from afar, this motel was in a good location to explore the town. The facilities were good including tables with a view and a shared lounge. The room was excellent too.

Loved our week so much booked for longer next year, very close to Lake Jindabyne and  all the shops. Fabulous well equipped lounge area where you can make your own dinner. Lots of electric appliances and a great barbecue kitchen outside. Large open grassed area with big trees between you and the highway so very quiet and private, excellent hosts what more can you want.

Home away from home

Great location within walking distance to shops and cafes. Clean, friendly budget accommodation. Nice lounge area for eating prepared meals. Suitable base for skiing Perisher, Smiggins or Thredbo. Diversity of rooms means the lodge is suitable for solo and family groups. Some rooms have shared bathrooms. Everything is very clean.

Quality budget accommodation.

Brenda, Lee and their team provide a ‘home away from home’ welcoming. They’re full of kindness and nothing is too much to ask. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Linen and towels are fresh every day. There is shared showers - womens side and mens side - though we did not experience any delay in gaining access to such amenities. There’s a seperate ‘den style’ room where you can prepare your own food if necessary. It also has coffee etc facilities. The premises are just a short walk from hotels and restaurants and rates are exceptional in value and far less expensive than Perisher which is only 30 minutes travel by car.

Stopover just had to be extended.

Great place to stay! The staff were lovely, bed was super comfortable and the lounge was very cozy and nicely decorated. It's a good location too, just a few minutes walk from the shops at Nuggets Crossing. Only downsides were the thin walls (but they provide earplugs) and the showers, which have tiny doors that don't lock so best to find one that wedges shut.

Great value

Friendly owners, room are fantastic, comfortable beds and shower is the best. Stayed there a couple of nights while on motorbike ride, biker friendly and plenty of parking. Would highly recommend. Had a wonderful time.

Fantastic motorbike friendly.

I have stayed at this lodge twice now in summer and have found the place to be excellent both for value for money and the incredible service provided.  This is an ideal stop for motorcycles and large gatherings.  I wouldn’t contemplate staying anywhere else.

The Best

Great price for a great location, common room was fantastic, bed very comfortable, bathrooms very clean and hospitality of the owner was warm and friendly, very nice cooked breakfast included.  Can’t fault this place, will stay again! 

Fantastic!!!

We stayed at the Kookaburra Lodge for one night as part of a motorcycle touring group. This accommodation advertises as ‘bike friendly’ and it certainly is. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the rooms are great value. The included breakfast was a nice surprise and very tasty. We will be returning next trip for sure.
