My husband and I have just returned from a three day short break at JOHANNA BEACH in the OTWAY RANGES, where we stayed at BLUE JOHANNA COTTAGES  (Self Contained)     WELL!  What a wonderful find,  firstly the kind, caring overly generous hosts, Graham and Lisda Speight, their attention to detail is remarkable, the wholesome breakfast provisions that after a  cooked country breakfast  automatically just sets you up for a really great day, the freshly baked homemade bread (Incredible) the cottage is extremely well equipped with everything one could possibly need. The surrounding Forest a  Johanna Beach are truly Unique, peaceful, and serene, with great views  every way you  look,  the other great feature was being able to take our little dog (Teddy) away with us, we had the most enjoyable three days, and will certainly be making a return visit in the not to distant future .

A TRULY UNIQUE FIND!

Brilliant stay in a self contained cottage. The hosts were friendly and gave us some great recommendations for exploring the area. The fresh bread was delicious and all of the complimentary foods were welcome. The bed was comfy, the water nice and hot and the room was clean. We were excited to see the ocean from our window and the sounds of the surrounding scrub was relaxing. Highly recommend the stay.

One night stay on the GOR

WOW!!  What an experience.  The delightful, funny, off-site hosts welcomed us in person, waiting for our late arrival, and baked us a fresh loaf of tantalising bread which we devoured.  The house we were in was like a dreamy dolls house, enlarged.  Everything you could imagine or should expect from and b and b but Johanna raises the bar and shifts the goal posts.  Amazing decor, spotless, huge spa, soft towels, nic nacs and thorough thought put into all the items one may need.  Without peer in the area.  Set amid your dream garden with sea views. A quiet and cool night in the middle of a hot summer.  A MUST STAY!

We stayed in Cove cottage with our dogs over the Christmas break. The cottage was spotlessly clean, lots of provision left for us which was a bonus including freshly baked bread. The setting was lovely with a distant view of the sea, lots of bird life, all in all a great place to stay. Graham and Lisda were very hospitable, would definitely recommend.

Peace & Quiet

Blue Johanna is a bit off the main road for those travelling on Great Ocean Road. However, it is a good location as it is an hour from twelve apostles and not too far off from Apollo Bay. It is in a forest reserve area. We were allocated a cottage that was not adjacent to the reception. The cottage itself was delightful. There is a sleeping area with comfortable beds and pillows. Bathrooms are clean and nice. We had asked for a spa room and we had a jacuzzi in the bath room. Bathroom supplied are in plenty. Host Graham was waiting for us to turn up and settle us in as we were a bot like 7 30 PM getting in. There is a sitting area, a kitchen with an oven cum hot plate. Microwave is available as well. We had travelled with some food and we were able to make our dinner. There was also a fireplace, not a classical one but adequate. We went on a cold day. we were tempted to make a fire but figured out that the inverter A/C and electric blanket did the trick. Night, we had frogs making sounds but the morning was birds chirping. Delightful and fibrous home made bread was made available with plenty of butter and jams and corn flakes, eggs etc to make your own breakfast. check out was simple. Attention to detail in every little aspect made this special for us. Thanks to the Graham couple who run this place.

An Amazing place to stay

The location was wonderful, in the middle of nature. No car noise, nice away from all the tourist roads. Our room - with its own bathroom - was very lovingly decorated. The facilities were mostly made of wood, which gave the whole thing a wonderful charm. The bed was equipped with two heating pads, the room - when we arrived - was already heated with a heater. Our breakfast was ready. There was self-baked bread and lovingly prepared overcoat, juice, coffee and cereals. The hosts welcomed us very nicely, we were not staying. We were very sad, we could only stay one night. That nowhere! With the calm and loveliness, this is a real dream. Pemps: Who would come to the place immediately?
