We went to this holiday accommodation in January 2022. We stayed for a maximum of 1 hour, as the place was absolutely filthy and we had three small toddlers in tow and couldn’t bare the thought of staying. Since then, I have tried endlessly to get a refund which was promised to me by management at the time. Nobody offered to come and clean the place. When I advised that it was filthy and that we were leaving, I was met with deep apologies and the promise of a refund. The owner has categorically blocked this refund for the past 18 months. I reported this to the local health inspector and even they found issues like I did. Still no refund from the owners. 

Due to ill health, I have been unable to escalate this to the Magistrates Court, however, I will in due course, as this owner will not keep my $600 odd for a property which was filthy and which we stayed in for less than 1 hour. 
Out of principle and what is right, I will continue to attempt to get my money back. 
Avoid at all costs. 

Filthy and no refund obtained even though we left after an hour!

We arrived this afternoon with our three small children, all under three. Not expecting what we were about to find, we unloaded the entire car and started to busy ourselves with settling in. We immediately noticed that the place was far more run down and mismatched than the photos online. We accepted that it was more basic than we were lead to believe, but acknowledged that the location was great. 
It was then that my husband started noticing some very concerning issues around cleanliness. The place was filthy. My children were crawling around on the floor and we immediately got them up, only to see that their hands and knees were literally black. 
There was dirty debris on windowsills, dead flies and other insects inside the house and one wet wipe of the floor brought up black residue (photo attached).

Not only were the floors filthy, but there were smear marks everywhere. On the furniture, doors, walls… almost every surface. 

Security was also an issue and we quickly decided that we would all cram into one room if we were to stay. Window meshing was all ripped and the mesh front door didn’t even close, leave alone lock. 

I immediately messaged the owner Bec and sent her photos. We started looking for another place to stay. It was late by this stage and we had three very little and tired children. We finally found something decent in Cervantes and then came the next ordeal. Packing the entire car again, with three screaming and agitated children to deal with. 

By this time, it was the evening and luckily we found somewhere that sold basic groceries so that we could feed our kids at our new location. Being a public holiday, everything closes early and we almost got caught short for basic food and drink. That’s a scary prospect with three littles ones. 

All in all, we are really upset. We’ve wasted our first day of our holiday and the stress has been horrendous. You can’t just wing it and hope for the best with a 2, 1 and 7 month old. The worst thing is that the owners knew we had three small children and still didn’t ensure that the place was hygienic. 

In terms of Covid safe places, this shack had not only not been cleaned after the last guest, but the last several guests. Not good for the spread of a virus in the middle of a Pandemic!! They had the Covid check in requirement for guests, but just missed the basic requirements THEY  had to fulfil! 

Utterly exhausted and upset beyond belief. It’s 2am and we are still trying to settle our little ones after a disaster of a day. 

The only saving grace is if the owners take this seriously and really do something for us, in terms of compensation. 

They also need to improve their offer, as it’s not even a cheap option or hostel prices. 
You really can’t and shouldn’t take people’s hard earned money and then offer them dust, dirt, cobwebs and dead 
flies. 

I think I showered for ages when we got to the new place, just to wash this place off… yuck!!

Filthy and Unhygienic- Family with three children under three. I wouldn’t stay here if I was paid to.

The units have a fantastic location, right on the beach and easy walking distance to everything in town. The units are pretty old and dated and could do with a makeover, but they are decent enough and if you have people in both bedrooms, the price is fine. Everything you need to self-cater is available in the unit. You should note that there is no service during your stay and there are no power outlets in the bedrooms and no wifi available.  The lack of wifi is really unforgivable in 2019! The check-in and out is smooth and easy via a key-safe and there is on-site parking for each unit.

Decent accommodation

Quite comfortable and the manager seems to pride herself on the units having everything you might need. The range of unit amenities were impressive. You could stay here comfortably with nothing packed from home but clothes, a toothbrush and your phone charger. Speaking of that, there are no power outlets in either bedroom so you do need to bring an extension cable or two if you want your phone charging by your bedside. The only real downside to staying here is that there's apparently zero sound insulation in the units (just thin fibro walls) with one wall shared between two units. The units are very clean and well maintained despite being a bit on the older side. The outdoor seating is nice and the local seagulls don't seem as aggressive as you find in more built up areas.
I don't think it's too pricey considering the other options available in the area. Especially if you want a place that not only sleeps 5, but has room for everyone to sit down for a meal too.
Apart from the public electric BBQ in the pictures there is another one about 100m towards the jetty, which is walking distance (less than 400m) and a popular fishing spot. The seating there is more sheltered too. The beach is less than 200m away (including the dunes vegetation) from the property. And about 20m from the beach car park so you really can't get any closer anyway.
If I could suggest any improvements I'd say the bedrooms could use power outlets, lamps, and blockout curtains.

Best value in Jurien Bay and surprisingly comfortable

Being on the ocean is the winner in my opinion. Stepping out onto the beach is the way to go for any holiday whether it be a week or a long weekend. The place has all the required amenities for a nice stay. Check in girls were lovely and assisted us when choosing things to do, places to visit, Looking forward to our next stay.

Best place to stay in Jurien

The wife and I spent a couple nights here recently - we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in peak season at $150 per night.  Very basic accommodation but has most of what you need, i.e. washing machine, oven/microwave, fridge, air-con and a t.v.  No wifi though. 

Located directly across from the beach park - easy walking distance to town centre and both pubs.  

All and all our stay was very comfortable and the place was very well located - a little pricey given the age/quality of the place but then again given it's fantastic location this is quite reasonable I suppose. 

Would stay again if looking for reasonably cheap and well located accommodation in Jurien Bay. 

P.s: the pillows whilst being rather new are the extremely soft type from Myers etc... our heads literally sank straight through them.  I would advise to bring your own pillows to account for this - all other linen/bedding was good enough.

Great location right on the beach

It is too expensive for what you get. It's old and very basic.

Negative points : Old fashion. My matress sank so deep I didn't sleep confortable. The small tv is high and not easy to watch. No Wifi.

Positive points : Smooth check-in and -out. Location. Washing machine.

Will certainly not stay again.

Too expensive

Clean and neat little cottage older style but functional and clean great location on the beach front. Short walk to shops and great park for kids. A bit of modernising and these villas would be amazing

Clean and neat

I stayed here with 2 kids in Cuttlefish unit. It was basic but still very comfortable. 2 bedrooms; one had bunkbeds and a double bed and the other a king size bed. Outdoor setting under verandah. Perfect location across from the beach. 5 minutes walk to the playground and jetty. And a 5 minute walk to grocery shop IGA. 
I would stay here again.
