We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. The old Queenslander is outstanding and the decorations such as the chandelier in the dining room compliment the home perfectly. 
The owner is very friendly and even allowed us to check in early. We had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Beautiful Queenslander

Lovely food, very pleasant surroundings, rooms climate control was very comfortable. 
Sara is a delightful, happy, easy going lady whose caring attention made our visit an absolute pleasure and gave us wonderful memories to cherish.

Two delightful nights accommodation and breakfasts

Rooms are beautiful & historic but the communal bathroom & toilet are shared between the 4 double bedrooms. Hand basin at toilet & bathroom are so small we couldn't even put our hands in to wash them, nor shave or brush our teeth without all the water falling on us & the wooden floor. None of the bedrooms nor the front door had locks so anyone could come in at anytime to any room even though the rooms are rented to unrelated people. Toilet had cobwebs & spiders in the high ceiling but the rest of the house was clean. Hot delicious breakfast in the morning was lovely in the grand dining room with country views.

Historic Queenslander in the country

On arrival for our 3 night stay we were greeted by our friendly host Sara. We chose a room at the front of the house with French doors opening to the wide veranda which overlooked the pool.
The room was spacious and comfortable with old world charm. We had a shared bathroom and shower which was fine as there was only one other couple using them.  (One of the rooms has an en-suite if you choose). 
We enjoyed the continental breakfast each day.  As a surprise for my husband birthday I organised a a delicious three course dinner cooked by Sara and served in the old world ambience of the historic dining room with its lovely chandelier.
We enjoyed the pool after many bush walks in the surrounding areas.  It was relaxing taking in the sunsets with a glass of wine on the airy, comfortably furnished verandah.  It was very warm when we were there so the air conditioning was welcome at night.  I’m looking forward to a return visit in the winter.
The local pub has hearty food for dinner and is a short stroll away as is Lovetts cafe for lunch.  (You need to check pubs dinner service times).
We used a Voucher and had no issues at all.  Thank you Sara.

Country comfort 

Wow, this place is absolutely incredible, The host isn't human, she is some sort of demigod ninja chef. Thanks to her If I ever land on death row I know exactly what I'll be ordering for my last meal.

Beautiful old Queenlander with a lot of history and character 
Fantastic host, delicious food and a great country location with spectacular mountain views.
Had a wonderful weekend based in Kalbar. I would definitely recommend.

Anniversary weekend

On our arrival our host Sara welcomed us and made us a lovely pot of tea which we enjoyed on the verandah. Wiss house is a beautiful house full of so much history and has a yesteryear charm. Our room was spacious and very clean and I loved the antique furnishings throughout the house. Breakfast was lovely and Sara prepared a beautiful fruit platter for us and  tea with real tea leaves. After such a wonderful experience and reading some of the history we look forward to returning to Wiss House.
